    c450i 2557 code

i have c450i with constant 2557 codes in level history the black is .2 percent no matter what i do,yet the copies or good and solid ,to me seems like the tcr sensor in dev is not reading properly rsather than an issue with adding toner in which case copies would be washed out

Whatever you do? are you sure? even with a percentage of 0 the machines can still get the black just fine. check and make sure that it picks up toner and that you don't have a problem in the toner subdeposit, because if it says it is full and it is not, it will not pass toner to the developer unit and it will not pick up toner from the bottle.

no matter what you do? What would that be? Shall we guess?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

As you have seen, 2 veterans of this site have called you out for lack of detail on what you have carried out to try and fix the issue. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt as I know the pain of the subhopper assemblies on the iSeries devices.

I am not going to give you the step by steps, but you can reference the follwing threads from this website for you to look through and make a call based on what your machine is doing.
Once you have performed some deeper investigation into your machine (not just tcr add / hopper fill) and have actually removed and checked the subhopper I am more than happy to offer guidance if needed to resolve the problem.

Almost certainly it's subhopper issue, as Slammers mentioned there are plenty of threads here and some excellent guides.

Risky move, I am willing to bet that you are going to get a repeat call in a few weeks with the same TCR error - ask me how I know.
