“ Error. This is invalid External Memory. Please make sure the External Memory.”

Good morning guys, recently I got a fw update here on the forum which would be the latest for c368 but I've already tried to update this machine but only keeps showing N.G on the control board in this update and any other I try, I've already changed the emmc and nothing is still the same

put the old emcc back in and use the tar wipe file. make sure machine type is correct and that the jump drive is actually connected to the correct port first.

I've had this happen many times. It is usually just the compatibility of the USB stick to the machine. I would use the HPDISK format tool from Konica Minolta to format the USB drive first, then reload the F/W and try again. Sometimes that helps.

That's the checksum check failing on the firmware updater. As Oystercopy said, check your USB stick. Trying a different USB stick may be good idea too. Did you "eject" the USB stick before removing it from the computer? If not, some files may be half written.

Hi, I have the same problem on a C250i. I've tried different firmwares and different USB drives , with the recovery the result is OK. Any ideas? Thanks.

Mine required a new storage board to solve this issue.

I have had this error when a firmware update has failed. I saw it several times on the 8 series. In the service mode you need to go into initialization you can clear the error there its on the same page where you find "clear all data" its a soft tab on the bottom LH side of the display and it will boot up as normal. I am not in front of a machine at this time but I can look monday and post another reply

I don't think it is possible to enter CE mode in this error state.

copier tech I believe they got NG when trying to update firmware on MFP part of update then he put another eMMC and now it has that. So as Albonline said I will put back old eMMC and try to update only MFP firmware. As for system error clear you are correct but it really depends in exactly which state is now machine.

I returned the original emmc but it still gives N.G on the mfp, funny that when I put the pendrive and remove the usb cable from the front of the machine and turn it on by pressing stop it starts working again but without the pendrive it turns on this white screen

Did that machine have Bizhub Secure? If so, you may have to repartition the Storage Board.
