    Konica Minolta C558 paper jam

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I have an issue with my Konica Minolta C558. I’m getting a paper jam error in the fuser unit (misfeed detection 13), but there is no paper present. I removed the fuser and cleaned the sensor around it, but the error still persists. I also took out the transfer belt and cleaned all the rollers in the feeding tray, yet I still have no luck. Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Go into Service Mode, Counter, Paper Jam History to get the troubleshooting jam code.

            Exit sensor may be toasted.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know which exit sensor by chance? I see many exit sensors in the service manual. Thanks again
Also some recommend replacing the clutch

                Hello,
I have replaced the exit sensor PS3 and the clutch CL8 and still shows the same error message.

Is this Actuator broken? This is on the top part of the door that swings open in the middle of the reversing duplex unit.

just to be sure, you don't print duplex pages?

Thank you Dianon for your reply. No the actuator is not broken. I can’t print anything as the copier can not pass this error.

The sensor check might tell us which switch is being tripped. Service mode > State Confirmation > Sensor Check, look at the first 3 screens for anything that's not in the normal position.

Not sure what all you've done, but let's start simple. Turn the copier off, open all the doors and trays, turn the copier back on. Wait until it notifies you that the side door is open and then close it, close each door and tray separately waiting a few seconds between each one until it notifies you of a jam. Once a jam is indicated stop where you are and check the sensors in that area. If it's the side door I would look at the fuser loop actuator which is just above the transfer roller, it may not be broken but it could be knocked out of place. Another common issue would be the noise dampening pads for the switch gate above the fuser. Just remove them and do not replace them. (sorry I don't have a manual handy to show a picture, but the pads will be on the right side door on the exit/reversal section).

Is the jam always there since you turn ON the copier or is it shown after the copy proccess has started?
The last jam you show us in the service mode is 30-03 and thats not in the fuser plus the date is a couple months old, the jam log should be full of the code.
Check the consumables, what is the life of the fuser?
Also, did you check the paper entrance in the fuser (down side)?
