Right to left starting at 0 and ending with 7.

You can input the binary number, but it is easier to input the number in Hex.

I was looking at the service manual, for something else, when I spotted this

We did it since they started to fail on A3 devices Sw187 to 40.

Unfortunately I don't have the HEX for that switch, and it's been a while since I had to do binary biggrin.png

That's why I'm asking the bulletin says switch 187, but the manual says 189 - switch 187 is for something completely different, it's for image quality. I've found a later bulletin that says to change 189 - not 187

Bulletin is for A3 models and service manual you mentioned is for A4 models. Not the same my friend, not the same

I know it's really confusing as Konica Minolta patched one after another mistake.

187 hex 40 does nothing on A4 device instead we should use Sw 189 to set fan turning(constant noise) or not.
Plus on A3 models we can set CPU fan run half speed/full speed or not at all while on A4 it's only ON/OFF.

I know it's a mess but we are techs and should clean all sh.ts they throw at us

Just a reminder to check the Machine Management List, especially in the final 6 months of the warranty. We checked 3 machines today and one of them has 8 - 14 cpub crash codes per day. The customer has not complained about it. FYI the code is 0X1FFF 0X2201900000000100. Now I'm replacing it under Warranty instead of getting stung by it later in the year. We are making the rounds to mitigate some of the financial damage.

Sad that dealers even have to do that. Do they compensate you for your time? Shame customers have to see their newer machine taken apart. All this because of a BAD design. They better go back to the drawing board and come up with a new design or it will be the end of Konica Minolta copiers!

There is NO compensation for travel or labor, but why would the manufacturer own their issue when they can push it off on the dealer?

To do the Warranty, they bill you for the CPUB plus shipping, you pay to ship the bad one back - include a machine management list and the warranty form. Then they wait the full 30 days before processing your credit on the CPUB only. If any error is made in this process then the warranty is denied. Also for a frequently ordered part, you'd think they would always have it in stock. Friends, they frequently back order this. That is why we keep a loaner machine.

These are not the machines you want to buy off lease and resell to churches and non-profits.
