We have gone quiet on service calls since putting the i range out. Did we have issues at first? Yes but resolved over time with firmware updates and mods. Now i range A4 and A3 are our least attended machines. The whole office has spoken about how much quieter it has gone on service calls since putting i range out.

You must be very lucky. As you can see by the replies the consensus is the "i" series has a lot of issues and most not happy with them.

I have 57 i series machines in the field. All of them have G00-RE firmware with bit switch 159 at Hex80 (Fan On).

18 CPUB's so far and 2 Storage Boards.

If it has gone quiet, I'd check to make sure your customers haven't gone out and bought a Canon or a Xerox.
Either that or you are the luckiest dude on the planet. I'd go buy a lottery ticket to see how far you can push it.

I check bulletins and firmware everyday. I'm probably way ahead of most people in keeping on top of things like this. G00-RE is outdated by quite a bit. Perhaps we just do it better than most. Not sure what you want me to say

TBH, we don't appear to have many problems either, got about 250 devices, a mix of 8 series and iseries, can't remember the last time I had a "decent repair" to do, a lot of twiddling my thumbs, and sending out toners. Got nearly all of the devices connected to CSRC. Yes, I've had to replace half a dozen boards. Now I've said this, it'll probably all go tits up biggrin.png
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

I work for a Konica dealer and we have a lot of i series out. We're not having too many problems either. I believe in keeping firmware up to date. The drums rarely go the distance but close. I keep them in stock. I replace a lot of fusers early too. I also keep them in stock and get warranty credit thru Konica's YPP program. Rarely ever replace a CPU or storage board.

G00-RE is the newest Base Firmware in One Stop Product Support. I went there now to double check. What Firmware are you using? In Special Firmware GG3-RF was just released 15 days ago.

                    Thanks for your help

G00-RF is the latest general release. GC2-RF is the latest Periodic update which is what I'm using and GG2-RF is latest bug fix. Not seen a GG3-RF but there is a GG3-RE.

We started off with a dozen Meritech boxes (rebadged KM i Series). Of the dozen, 7 had major issues and 3 had the CPU issues. Just getting toner was a Herculin task for months, failing drums at 20k, fuser issues, toner clumping issues, constant firmware updates, that stupid fu&^ing Marketplace app, etc.. just a total shitshow. KM ended up folding Meritech and at that point we jumped ship and never looked back. It was a blessing in disguise.

what machine/s have you switched to if you don't mind me asking?

I am in Canada. I imagine different Countries have different releases available.

                          GC2-RF has the following change.
What changed 2.1. Fixed issues 1. Equipped with PC rotation control by Engine DipSW Engine DipSW No56 ON: Enable PC rotation control OFF: Disable PC rotation control

Thanks, I just wanted to know that I hadn't missed anything.

Sold maybe 50 i-series per year since start in 2019 and we had faulty cpub's in the beginning - we may have 200-250 i-series and approximately 20 CPUB's and one storage. 99% were manufactured in 2019 until June 2022. Afterwards we only had one faulty board while 50 machines per year. It's always the same with konica: Never buy the brand new machine's. C224e had SSD issue's - C258 had SATA-Controller issues and C250i /C33x0i had/have multiple issues: CPUB/Storage and toner not recognized...

I've lost hope Konica will ever release a new machine without major problems. But i'm too used to the machine so i dont wanna change the brand

We now focus on Toshiba, Xerox, and Lexmark, with a smattering of Kyocera and HP mixed in for laughs.
