My firmware update input the wrong type of machine. This caused my machine to not work.

What do you mean by wrong type of machine? If you replace the only time I have had to set machine type is when I replaced the MFPB. Need more detail

I've never done such a thing, so I can say if this works or not.
I would think it would be as easy as booting back into the firmware update screen, selecting the machine type button on the right hand side of the screen, and then changing it back to whatever it should be. Once set correctly, update the firmware and hopefully everything is back to normal.

What makes you think a firmware updated 'changed the machine type' ?

What issues are you having any errors codes etc ?
