Wireless Access for Konica Minolta C224e

I'm just an end user and recently acquired a used good condition Konica Minolta C224e. How do I know if it's ever been outfitted with the UK-208 wireless network kit? I assume this is an added device that is tucked behind a panel somewhere. Since the machine is obsolete, I cannot find much on the web about the UK-208 kit and how/where it installs. So I don't even know what it looks like to search around the machine.

Assuming it's not installed on my machine, what work around is available to connect the machine to my wireless router?

    Thanks in advance!

If the machine doesn't have the WiFi adapter installed then you can get an access point like the Tenda F9, configure it to repeater mode and connect the machine to the access point via network cable. This will allow the machine to connect to the network wirelessly. In fact you can connect other wired devices this way and make them wireless as well

Make sure your machine has the correct network settings as well.

Thanks for this great feedback! Is there a way to know if the machine currently has the UK-208 kit? I'm not even sure what the kit looks like or where it connects. I'd like to know before buying an access point.

Print the configuration page and it will show installed options. As others posted the wireless kits for these were really bad and adapter for around $50 is way to go. Out of hundreds of "4" series I've seen only a few had wireless kit so I doubt the machine you have has it installed.

As @copyman said, print a configuration page (utility-user settings-printer settings-print reports-configuration page). Or look in administrator-network settings, you should have two sets of settings, for wi-fi and lan. But from experience, wi-fi adapter from Konica Minolta even the new i series are crap. You better go for a wireless repeater configured as an adapter.

is the wired and wireless on the same subnet?
just get the PPPOE boxes, no need for wireless
              or one of these?

Amazon.com: TP-Link AV600 Powerline Ethernet Adapter - Plug&Play, Power Saving, Nano Powerline Adapter, Expand Home Network with Stable Connections (TL-PA4010 KIT) : Electronics
              or
Powerline WiFi Adapters - TRENDnet for wireless access point.
              the first one totally rocks.

Folks, I have attached a scan of the configuration page. It's a little foreign to me, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Can you help me determine if it has the wireless kit installed?

Go into service mode and look for 2nd network settings. If it's enabled then the UK is present (or you would be getting errors on start up). E

It is not enabled. Not knowing any better, I tried to enable it last week. Then the machine booted with errors. I had to disable it before the machine would boot properly again.

Re: Wireless Access for Konica Minolta C224e

If I remember correctly, the UK-208 only did 2.4GHz and will not do 5.0GHz. Also, if I remember correctly, the UK-208 was more expensive than it was worth. So I think its a safe bet that your machine does not have one.

The best way to connect to one of these device is hard wire back to your router. The PCs on your network can connect wireless to the machine through the router. In my opinion, connecting the machine via wi-fi is not only unsecured, but comes with many with problems.

However, if you insist to connect via wi-fi, I would strongly suggest using one of these devices: TP-Link Wireless Travel Router WR902AC

                        Amazon.com: TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router(TL-WR902AC) - Support Multiple Modes, WiFi Router/Hotspot/Bridge/Range Extender/Access Point/Client Modes, Dual Band WiFi, 1 USB 2.0 Port : Everything Else

When I have to, I use one of these devices on the machine that requires being hooked up to the network via wi-fi (ugh!). I have found these devices to be very stable and they will do 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz. This is especially useful for older machines with wi-fi that only do 2.4GHz but the customer insist on using the 5.0GHz network. When you go to set this device up, only use CLIENT MODE.

                        Good luck, you'll need it.

You answered yourself. If you enabled an option that is not phisically connected, the machine will throw errors related to that optional board (it is trying to communicate with it with no succes).
Regarding first question: on the config page, you would have a field stating "wireless lan" plus the name of the board (uk-208 in your case)
LE: as many stated here, don't waste time and money with UK-208 (not even if it's free). If indeed you need to connect the printer to a wireless network (imposible to get a utp cable from printer to router) go for a tp-link range extender. You can configure it as an extender or just as an adapter (it gets the wireless signal and transfer it to cable). Used this solution on at least 30 printers with great results. Also installed konica wi-fi modules with crap results (one customer said if he close the door between the rooms, one where the router was and the room with the printer) the signal dropped completely ?

Hard wire is always best but a wifi extender will get you connected as well.
