    Konica 550i

    4 machine's updating firmware 2 machines boots up 50 percent of the way black dot goes way.than goes into copy screen....I used 4 USB sticks. Used the top port and side port help

      Try another FW version. Happened to me.

          try a trouble reset first.
          We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
          The medication helps though...

              Have you tried selecting each item individually and update FW one at a time?

              How far is the jump between FW versions? You may need to update in steps using older FW versions first.

              And last thing is to leave front door open after black dot appears. This use to work on the "8" series, not sure about the "i" series.

                  Do you have different +550i with and without memory board? They need different versions of firmware.

                      looking at Konica's firmware page there are two P8 firmware's listed both say without memory so that is an error. One is with memory and one without , one file is is in folder FW0025 and the other is in folder FW00026. If you put both of these firmwares on the root of a usb the machine will only pull from the folder that it needs. It wont pull the wrong firmware.

                          back in the day when ever usb/CF card update wouldnt work i used ISW. maybe try that
