[Misc] FS-539 Alignment plate Issue

Hello All,
I have a develop 450i with an FS-539 Finisher.
the Alignment plates on the finisher are closing too close together, causing a bow in the pages leading to either a missed staple or misaligned stapled pages.

I've been into 'service mode - finisher' and adjusted the Alignment Plate Position settings to -10 (and every position in between) but this makes no difference (the +10 option brings the plates even closer together)

the machine is on firmware N5. I've cleaned all sensors and rollers and replaced the staple cartridge.

any ideas on where to try next?

this may be silly but is it set for inch or metric?

Dont think it would help but you could try p8 firmware. Also make function level is at 2.2 sure sw25 is at hex 03 in service mode to accomplish this. Even N5 needs to be at function level 2.2

yeah the paper size is correct. we swapped out the finisher with a good spare and its working perfectly.
the problem is with the unit itself.

I've updated the firmware with the latest Q6 version and the problem remains.

just an update on this issue,
we got it fixed. it turned out there was a slight bend in the alignment plates on either side. a small bed in the opposite direction fixed the problem.
it was a bit of a silly mistake not to notice he bend in the first place but hopefully this might help someone in future.
