    FS-536SD

    Hi Guys,
Setting up a FS 536SD and the tray holder advanced up to far and is hitting the cover. Is there a way to make it go back down before I power up again? I know I have run into this before years ago but I cant remember what to do. I think it happened because the tray was not on when the finisher was setting itself up. Thought about taping down the sensors on the top and restarting. Just wanted some input before I try that.
    Thanks

You gotta open the finisher door, hold up the actuators and close finisher door and the tray will think it's fill and it will lower.
The other was is remove rear cover and depress the spring clutch gear so it Lowers the tray, that should be done with machine off .
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

I just remove the rear cover and turn the pulley that lowers & lifts the belt for tray

I used to use this one when shipping out finishers for delivery. It has to be lowered some to unscrew the tray. Our delivery guys were not always very delicate with the finishers (I don't mean you, Thayer). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You can do it too in service mode, finisher settings, test , main tray up/down

When the upper limit switch is activated I have never had a response in service mode for lowering the tray, the error code usually cancels the ability.
                Ymmv good luck
