Will Kon/Min ever make a fuser that don't make noise?

How could one of the top OEM's not be able to correct the noise that their fusers make, squealing, clicking, clunking, etc. Not just when machine is running but when sitting idle. I know it's mostly due to bearings inside fuser which I've replaced many times when rebuilding the fusers. Or the cleaning / brush roller bushings / bearings on the larger models.

This has been going on for many years and still doing it with new models! From what I remember it started with the early "4" series and never got better.

What brought me to finally post this was I just bought two C3350i (low meters, 4k & 20k) from wholesaler and both fusers are making terrible noise. Just no excuse for this! Why keep using the same footprint when it's not working!

Anyway sorry for ranting but this really has me pissed.

I know it's probably stupid question but are you sure noise is from fusers?
They are known for noisy exit section, could it be?
    See below:

It's easy to test it with tech51 advice.
    Good luck

So far we haven't experienced any noise from the fusers in the C3350i and similar models, but like tsbservice said, we have had multiple issues with the exit section squeaking and squealing on these smaller machines.

As for noisy fusers, that goes back at least as far as the 2-series machines, especially the 552/652 (and color). Those were notorious for their squeaking. Almost always the cleaning brush roller bushings in those, and once those bushing wore down enough, then you would have the curved metal arms that held the brush roller start rubbing on each end of the large black cleaning roller.

The short answer to the OP's question would be N O.

Have you tried enabling silent mode with engine FW dipswitch 37? You can do that on the C3350i.

Used copiers, you can never guarantee the counter is correct.

Maybe thats why the devices were sold on, the last user got fed up with the noise.

Exit assy's are very common to squeak on the sparrow series, and also not hard to lube all points of friction with a suitable plastic compatible grease. Once done correctly its generally not an issue ever again. The fusers can make a clunk clunk clunk noise from a flat spotted pressure roller if left idle and for a long period, it may or may not eventually sort itself out with use.

Good point but I've been in this business long enough to know if machine is low meter. For instance the C3350i I just bought with 4k on meter still has yellow on transfer roller among other signs that only low meter machines would have.

Plus it's not that easy to roll back meters.

Not a stupid question. I have read about the noise with exit section and will look at that. The noise almost sounds the same as the old C3350 and why kon min history of fuser noise came to mind and I posted OP

Again why would a top OEM not grease the points of friction when assembling at factory! Just no excuse for this. I still say the last good machines Kon/Min sold were the "4" series. The "8" series is also good but because of the drums changing to PCR instead of sawtooth charger they rank below the "4" series. As for the "i" series so far they have not proven to be better, if anything they are worse! Just my humble opinion.

One thing you can do is set machine to go into low power to a lower time not the max of 60 minutes. The longer its on in standby the more the fuser is heated and rotating. I set mine to go into low power after 15 minutes. I also make sure that the machine does not go into sleep mode because a lot of KM's have trouble waking from sleep mode
