    Help! How to move C258?

I have a C258 with the staple/collate attachment.. Question.. How the heck do I move this thing?! It's currently on carpet, and I can see wheels under it, but the carpet doesn't let it move at all, or potentially it's not even on the wheels...? I am trying to move it home as my office will now be in the house. I really don't want to get rid of it as I'd imagine it's not worth much, and worth that much more to me as is..

Details: I'll probably need a liftgate at both ends. But other than that it's first floor to garage so we should be fine in moving it in.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Probably best to detach the finisher first - open finisher front door, remove 1x screw that holds a metal plate, pull metal plate forward to detach the finisher. Be careful to remove the cables between the two units, obviously after shutting the machine down and removing the power.

The machine should move easily then, if not the lower cabinet may have the feet down, if so turn the feet to move them up.

      Good luck!

The other poster is correct check that the levers on the front wheels are in the up position and remove finisher. If all else fails you can remove 4 clips (2 front, 2 rear) that hold copier to base, lift straight up off base *if the base has any paper feed drawers you will have to remove small cover and unplug 2 connectors before lifting copier off base. Also when putting copier back on base lower straight down onto pins on top of base

No need for liftgate truck, roll base with copier or lift off base and carry (handles fold out both sides) and can load separately into SUV or pickup truck.

You can disconnect the finisher & also the main copier engine will lift off the lower half, paper cabinet etc. These 3 sections can then easily be lifted by two people. The main printer section has built in carry handles.

One thing to be careful of after you disconnect the finisher. There no lift points on the side of the finisher that was against the copier. Any cross frames can be easily damaged by using them to lift with.

if you're going to transport it in a vehicle, try and tie it down, but don't bend the scanner. I've seen a machine, that wasn't tied down, somersault - when the driver braked and the document feeder flew up and the momentum flipped the machine, apparently he was only doing 5 mph......yeah....
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

I would not move it in a jeep. it would be worth the money to rent a truck and straps to strap it to the inside the truck.

FMD to move it for you.
a few hundred bucks but its a deductible business expense and they are fully insured so if anything happens to it they make it right.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
                    The medication helps though...
