So it came back and the clip is still on the transfer belt assembly. Tech put in a new drum, main charge and developer, if it comes back I'm ordering a laser unit for it.

It's such a shame Kyo tortures qualified techs to change multiple times consumables and many other parts for such classic manufacturer's induced design fault.
On a side note we have had it fairly equal years ago when Toshiba scr.w transfer belts on estudio 600 range machines.
Good luck guys will be waiting this fixed and confirmed soon.

It is definitely, only reason I am replacing them we did a PM a year ago and haven't replaced them since this all started. They are well before another PM cycle so I haven't replaced them again, this is kind of a last ditch effort before replacing the laser.

What about the attached service notes from the Kyocera Rep? The post from progoffice on 9/23/20. It sounded pretty good.

Apologies if I missed your reply.

We replaced the drum drive unit that he suggested and also did the mylars to keep the belt from moving. Nothing we have done has fixed this issue.

Yeah that's the same thing we are dealing with, sometimes it will go days without doing it. We have replaced the transfer belt twice, mylars per tech bulletin, drum, developer, drum drive unit, entire conveying section, front PWB and probably a thing or two I'm forgetting. I ordered a laser for it this morning.

We are also starting to see it on the 7003i. My tech replaced the transfer belt unit last week..so far so good. I will post back if the problem reoccurs.

We've replaced the transfer belt, twice, and the entire conveying section and it's still doing it.

Might seem like an obvious troubleshooting step but I didn't see it previously mentioned; does it have a good surge protector connected with ethernet protection?

Yes, it has had one on it ever since it has been there. Not sure of the model but it has a surge protector/line conditioner on it.

Hi, I too would like to add to this thread, having this issue arise on both a TA8002i and now a TA9003i both mcs experiencing this black vertical black line issue AFTER 1st PM kits fitted. Having already been down the line of replacing drum, transfer unit, dev and finally drum drive as previous suggested posts, with No resolve, I decided to fit an old style transfer [no yellow dot] unit that I had kept from an old TA8001i pm and found this cure my issues on our test device. All along I have believed this to be a faulty PM unit as only started as I said after 1st 600k PM kits fitted, so I believe its an earthing/grounding issue with these new type units. Our mc is still running old type transfer unit under test and runs 3-4k per day on delivery notes/invoicing, hoping it holds out as these old units used to run on and on, still working even when split or ripped.. Hope this adds some light to this issue out there
