    KFS Email Notifications

We're having trouble getting the email notifications from KFS for toner orders, C-codes, etc. We use Office 365 & receiving the emails seems to work intermittently. From Kyoceras Traceroute it shows delivered successfully. If I run a traceroute from O365 Exchange admin, I only see the ones we actually received. There are none in the quarantined or spam filters, or failed deliveries.
I think the problem resides on Kyoceras end, but don't know how to troubleshoot it to verify it.
    Hope that helps !

Are you still dabbling in this Thayer?
He's the guy to ask. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

For the IT guys I have been dealing with in setting up scan to email using Outlook or Outlook 365, I have heard they are encountering a lot of problems. Some have solved the problem but do not let me know what they did. Others have made another email account like gmail or yahoo mail or a separate domain account not using Outlook at all just for scan to mail on these devices.

We also rely upon the Kyocera machines to send us reports, however as of a year or so ago we have stopped using the email account (that is in our domain) we use for scanning to email at our office. The reason is that if we leave our email account in the machine, many customers will try to scan to email . They then see it works because our account is in the machine. That makes us responsible for the content of their email. I still use our account to test scan to email when we deliver a machine to a customer. Once the test is successful at that location, I remove the account from the machine.

I wish Kyocera and other manufactures had a place to put a separate email account just for notifications and a place to put in an email account for scan to email with out having to add a separate NIC card. I do not understand why this is not possible. Maybe someone could explain this to me in Barney terms so I could understand.

Kyocera has had the ability to use separate email notifications for quite a while. Navigate to the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/svcmntrpt
Although if you use KFS, I'm not sure why you would need this.
          Hope that helps !

If you set up an email relay then the emails will only go out to the same domain, and the customer will be unable to use the settings for their own emails.

We use it for our contracts person who already gets emails from our Sharp machines that don't have monitoring, and they all get sent to the same inbox. Otherwise, yeah, it's useless since we have KFS. ALSO, when you install the add on wireless card for the 306/307/308 style machine, it kills KFS, which is absolutely moronic.

We do not use KFS. Although I have asked, but I am told the price is too high.

When I browsed out to our 3051ci office printer (1xx.xxx.xxx.77/svcmntrpt). I had to login first then add /svcmntrpt. It took me right to a spot I never knew existed. I put in a different set of email credentials and it worked like a champ. I checked and the original email credentials set up under Function Setting had not changed and worked as well. I tested this three time by sending a report from both locations and all worked. I have added this to my machine set up.

Thank you SO much Tony!!! That's is just the work around I needed.

I wonder why this isn't working on two of my 406ci. They are both here at the office. Used equipment I am making ready for sale. They both have the latest firmware, V5.06. I am running Data Sanitation again on one of them to see if it helps. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

I was able to access it on a 406ci in our office. If there's a way to disable it, I don't know of it.
                      Hope that helps !

Ran Data Sanitation last night. This morning I ran HD Format and ran reset to factory default. I then put the email credentials we use for monthly reports in the email part of Function Settings and it works great. Went over to that special area for service reports and put in the same email credentials and when I sent a report I got '500 Internal Sever Error'. Took out the the email credentials in Function Settings and tried in that special area to run report, '500 Internal Sever Error'. I put my email credentials in that same area and tried to send a report, '500 Internal Sever Error'. Put my email credentials in Function Settings, worked fine.

I don't know what else to do. I guess this machine isn't going to do this.

Any suggestions (aside from kicking the machine) would be appreciated.

Do U21 on it. That resets alot of crap too. I had a 3011 that refused to scan to email with SSL. That was my fix even though everything was setup properly.

                            Thanks Lawrence.

I tried u021 on the machines in question and it didn't make a difference. When I set it up and tried to send a report , '500 Internal Sever Error' would pop up every time.

                            Oh well.....

Did you ever find answers on this issue? We have the same issue, and it seems to happen periodically, then resolve itself.
