[Dead] DP7100 Not recognised. Simulation Codes not available in service mode

    Hi there,

Quick question for all you Kyocera engineers out there. I have a Taskalfa 4053ci with a DP7100 which is not recognised as an option on the device. In service mode, all simulation codes for testing the switches and sensors etc aren’t present. I have the DADF PWB on order but was wondering if anyone else has had this before and can offer some assistance. It currently seems completely dead and nothing initialises when switched on or opening the top cover etc:

    Regards

The DP is most likely disabled. You will need to run U906 to reset it, then pay attention as you may get a code that will indicate why it became disabled in the first place. You should also look at your event log for any DP codes that would indicate why it was disabled. If there is a problem with the DP that is not resolved it will likely disable again.

Agree with CWP. U906 for sure, but also check the plug connection doesn’t have bent pins and is pushed fully home.

Hi there, thank you for your responses. I have run U906 and no joy. Last codes in event log were from end of August. I have updated the firmware and removed the skip file to force a full update. All pins look fine on the connector. It just seems that the engine can’t see the DP as the sim codes for running diagnostics on the DP are not even present.

              or easier:
DP Connection.jpg check the connector for the DP from below, we already had problems with the connection.
Everything was fine from the top, but the bottom plug was partially out or oxidized

We encountered this with the DP7150 for Tomcat_4 TASKalfa_MZ_4000i

Replacing part 302ZS94030 PARTS PWB ENGINE ASSY SP

                Problem solved

The machine and DP are both new

Instead of just throwing parts / PWB's at this, why don't you get a meter out and check input voltages to the finisher (at the finisher main PWB) to see what you have. No voltage to the finisher PWB = no communication between finisher and machine = no finisher options / maintenance items. Power and communications from the machine to the DF appears to come from Feed Image PWB, not directly from Engine.

DP7100 is a document processor, aka ADF.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Of course it is, and I knew that, just turned left somewhere. The point still holds true though, pull a meter out and check some basic voltages first before just throwing boards at it. The DP does directly connect to the Engine.

We actually ran into the same issue about 2 months ago on a TASKalfa 3553ci. With ours, after a lot of blown boards and during troubleshooting and our regional rep coming out, we found out it was a bad CIS, which blew out the engine board, which blew out a fuse on the CIS board. You should check the CIS assembly for shorts, just in case. The likely cause of the immediate symptom is the engine board, but you should 100% figure out what blew it out if that's the case.
