    306ci Reset Firmware

Has anyone figured out how to get the 306ci/356ci reset firmware to work ? The instructions are horrible. I have one that has U465 at 173 for Magenta and Yellow. I've even tried pulling the reset files out and putting them in a full firmware, but that didn't work either.
    Thanks for any insight !
    Hope that helps !

If my memory serves me correctly, right after you run the reset firmware [and shut down] you need to run the firmware upgrade before doing anything else. I cannot find the document that relates to this, but it is worth a shot. This has worked for me on other models where I have had to use the reset firmware. Run the reset firmware and after it has completed, power off and insert the firmware upgrade for the model and power up installing the new firmware, this should resolve the problem. Hope this helps.

I'll be interested in the results. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There is a readme file, but it's written poorly. I've tried to follow it, doing it a couple of different ways. You don't get a "firmware" screen with this reset firmware. That's part of the problem, you don't get to see anything happen.
I thought I might be able to copy those 4 engine files and put them into a full firmware update, but it completed with no change to the engine firmware.
        Hope that helps !

          Re: 306ci Reset Firmware

i came across this post and now i am curious. i don't recall having heard of a kyocera reset firmware in the past. i have worked on the old stuff from km1810/ km3060. and i have worked on the newer stuff as well. in the past i have used the full firmware and the turbo. so is the reset firmware a package that covers all models? how does it work? and how might i get a copy? is it something i can download from kyocera once i log into the kyocera website? i have used 906 as a reset, but not a firmware package. thanks for your help.

The instructions seem clear to me, but its not taking care of your problem, try u21 than u464

After verified, download the reset firmware from our Web site
            1. Place the Firmware on a USB Stick and Upload the Reset Firmware.
            2. Turn the power OFF
            3. Open the side or front cover
            4. Turn the power ON
            5. If no service call error or system error occurs and [Cover open] is displayed in the screen, you were successful. Close the Cover.
            6. If any service call error or system error occurs, troubleshoot the problem based on the error code
            7. Download the latest Firmware Pack from our Web site.
            8. Execute calibration (maintenance mode U464 > Calib > Full)
            9. Run copies /Prints to verify the image problem is resolved
