    8003 pin holes / dots

Howdy folks, we have seen this on lots of the 7003/8003 machines. Tiny dots on the surface of the drum leaving marks on the page. The Transfer Belt wipes out the drum. You have to change them as a pair or it does it again.

We just replaced drum and transfer belt on this machine before Christmas and a month later it's done it again. Anything we are missing you guys might know of? This Drum/Belt lasted 37k

Sample customer sent is pretty bad. The color picture below is one of my saved samples from another machine.

I would guess the DV unit is the root cause of the issue. Check the spacer collars on the DV unit to make sure they aren't locked up. I'd think the DV is too close to the drum unit.
    Hope that helps !

You sure a new tr belt was put in? It’s always been a compromised belt when we have seen that.

I wasn't the guy who did it but the guy who did claims he put it in. He wrote it off on the call a month ago.

Maybe he's mailing copier parts home to build his own machine

We had that issue and required all three Drum, Developer and Transfer Unit at same time. Seemed that if only one or two of the items where replaced the issue would return as it cascaded.

take care for the moveable guide above the drum.
Check small white gears for damage.
We have good experience after we disassembled this guide in total.
No jamming, running well and no more dots again.
i attach KDC leaflet for further checking

                Nice documentation, thanks.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I wondered if that guide could damage the belt bet never assumed a high voltage leak!
We have teachers bend/break those things off. We just remove it and throw it in the bin as well. They run fine with out it.

                  Thanks for the guide.

It doesn't quite line up with the star ring but the drum guide is slightly deformed and the belt has a hole blown thru it. The dot is a hole.
They took the guide off and hopefully that takes care of it.

I have seen this also. My guess is there is some type of debris, getting behind the transfer belt and there is a short blowing through the belt. Other than that you need a new transfer belt , drum and clean everything up good.
