    Kyocera FS-3640 high meter...

Was at a new customer servicing their Konica Minolta which is my usual brand and they asked me to look at their old Kyocera FS3640MFP. It was misfeeding so cleaned the PF rollers and started working fine. Checked the meter and it was 880k! (see attached) Over the years I've heard the smaller Kyocera's were good machines with many not having a service call for 100k+ clicks, and drums lasting 300k, etc. Cant say that about many OEM's and their small B&W models.

I'm not overly surprised copyman, in late 2004 we got a deal with a fairly large school in S.E. Cornwall (~18 devices), and
when the sales chap from Kyocera came down and saw it with his own eyes Kyocera paid for and presented this:

Fair play copier, and fair play Kyocera.. 😎

Yep, these engines are pretty decent and have seen a number pass 500k. That’s been worked hard with prints and scans!
I’ve had one client do over 12 million on each of three of their 80 and. 70ppm task Alfas with good reliability. Definitely the best brand I’ve worked on for longevity on the higher end devices.

Yes I've also heard the 20+ppm Kyocera models lasting years with high meters. But this can be true with many OEM's and 20+ppm models. I was thinking more of the small models which you are lucky to get 100k pages out of them. Kind of like an American built car and lucky to get 100k miles out of them

This probably won't surprise you, but most of the tabletop Kyoceras were designed for high output. The more you run, the better it runs. If you're used to manufacturers quoting ridiculous monthly yields (like I am, I would typically divide the number quoted by 3), these machines can do it, and more.

Here's the problem: Often due to their low initial purchase price, they are frequently placed where they run 1000/month or less. In these situations, they NEVER make yield on their supplies, and cost a fortune to maintain.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Impressive. We're seeing drums fail so early on Ricoh A4 devices, after like 10k. & these devices got a lot more than Kyo kit !
