HI I have a customer with Kyocera 3554ci and have been having issues with scanning using the DP-7160 or DP-7170.
We know the paper is not in great shape all the time. They have stacks of like 200-300 pages being scanned. But when scanning it skips a few pages.
Which now makes the user have to check every scan to make sure pages are not missing. It does not error out, they only find out when they count the pages in the scan.
We have changed the sep roller and all adf roller components. Oddly it seems to work for a few weeks and then the issue returns.
Total scans maybe like 1,000 pages in that time.
I replaced the entire ADF with a slightly used unit but every time the user does these large packages it skips pages.
So 2 ADFs, 1 the 7160 and the 7170 are doing the same thing.
Now this customer used to have Toshiba copiers before I replaced them with the Kyocera. They had no issues with the Toshiba skipping pages. We know the pages are sometime wrinkly and not in the best shape sometimes. But the argument is, the Toshiba had no issues wit the paper condition. Why does the kyocera.
Any help is appreciated.
My tech believes the issue is the cheap plastic where the sep roller sits in. But, how do we fix that.
Thanks,
Kunal
