    Kyocera 4053CI code C6610

I have a 4053 that I have very limited experience on we just inherited a few of them (national account). I am getting a code 6610 (fuser pressure) during start-up on a fuser that is 3 months old. I pre-ordered and installed a new fuser (I am aware of how fragile they are)."No go" still get code at start-up. I ordered a fuser drive assembly after researching machine operation what are the chances this fixes the issue? Also some tips on installing assembly? I have the service manual but would appreciate any input from Kyocera tech's...TIA, Free-coh

It’s a very easy assembly to change. The only tip I can give is you will need to press in the black pressure lever to remove the old one and same fitting the new one. The lever is pushed when the door closes. You’ll know it when you see it.

I’ve had a couple of 54 series fail with this error. Can’t recall having to replace one on a 4053, so I’d say it’s pretty rare.

Had 1 or 2 on the 53's, probably 2-3 on the 52's. Also had the motor fail twice.

Be sure to run a 906 in Maintenace mode to clear the error code after replacing the fuser. This will reset the original code. Might be the issue if you didn't run a 906.

Most of the occurrences of this code we have encountered have been on xxx4 series machines with very low print counts. We have had to replace the motor in every case and the entire drive unit in some. Outside of those I have witnessed it one other time on a TA5002i with nearly one million clicks. The gear was clearly wiped out and got replaced along with the motor.

Thanks so much for all the great advice guy's. I ended up replacing the entire drive assy' which fixed it. When I was taking out the the old unit it came straight out without any tilting or twisting. Well initially i was hoping to find some defect in the old unit to confirm my suspicions of gear or motor problem but everything looked fine. Sooo then while comparing it to the new unit I noticed the release lever was completely broken off! Anybody seen that one before? not having any real experience on this unit made me look right by the obvious problem and it doesn't help that everything inside this box is black on black! lol
