Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
Thinking hard, I seem to remember that setting up a extra program button on the mainscreen can reduce the number of actions, so that when they touch it it will automatically scan to a single address.
But from memory, this needs to be done at the physical machine. Am I right? -
Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
I'm not completely familiar with the new interface, but iirc one selects an address then presses 'Start' OR 'Scan' (whatever the button label is) but only one step appears not 'Scan and then Start'. One touch button probably won't change your fate, but it's normally part of the Address Book entry GUI.
Your address book is internal not external [LDAP(s)]?
First network step in scan is usually a DNS look-up for the server, maybe yours is slow.
I would hate to think this is how they fixed the 4803 send codes when rapid scanning (overlapping TLS session error)

Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
I tried it on the one at our office, and it looks to be a confirmation of the selected address(es).
It pops up a box that says The destination below is selected
I don't see a way to disable it though.Comment

No way to disable this yet. Hopefully Kyocera will come out with a f/w to toggle this.Comment

Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
Thanks guys for the replies.
Internal address book with only one entry, address is a NAS drive, SMB by IP address so no DNS lookup. Previous Kyocera machine did not have this issue.
I think they probably got the order wrong, select scan then one-touch.
If I remember correctly, if you set up a program button on the main screen, it will select scan and set the address in one step, so reducing the number of actions.
I did work on several different manufacturers though, and it was a few years back.
I have referred it to our on-site techs, as I work remotely, and the customer is approx 200 miles away,Comment

Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
I have submitted this delay issue to our Kyocera Service rep. He said he was going to submit it to the engineers.
Issue 1 - When on the one-touch keys screen, you have to wait like 2 seconds after each selection before doing anything due to the confirmation screen.
Issue 2 - When selecting multiple destinations from the address book, after hitting OK you have to wait for the confirmation screen to cycle through a confirmation for EVERY SINGLE destination you've selected. and each confirmation screen lasts about 2 seconds.
Issue 3 - When selecting multiple destinations, there's an additional confirmation prompt that pops up making sure you're aware that you've selected more than 1 destination.
All of these issues, in my opinion, should be easily solved with firmware. That's fine if these prompts are on by default, but give us an option to toggle them off!Comment

Yep that setting is off by default.
Our service rep got a message back that it's a "Security Feature" brought on by some new regulations and it's not as easy as disabling it in firmware. So they're going to send it up to the next level of engineers overseas and see if they can do something about it.Comment

This "feature" started showing up after a firmware update. They need to allow us to toggle it off. It's aggravating.Comment

Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
If they are scanning several one-page documents, they can use file separation; that creates a separate document for each page. If the documents are multiple pages, they will have to wait for it to be fixed with firmware.Comment

We have a customer who we upgraded from a 2 series to a 4 series. They are pissed because of this issue. The want us to take the MFP out.Comment

Re: Taskalfa 2554ci Scanning pause before can touch start button.
I wonder if installing the previous version firmware would stop this nonsense for now.
If it could, what version firmware would that be.
I currently have versions 3.00, 3.02, 3.06.
The current version is 3.07.Comment
