Do a data sanitation under system menu that will reset to factory.

        Re: Kyocera TaskAlfa 3551ci. MYQ

I have this posted in my shop for all used machines going to back to the lease companies or used machines coming into our shop:

        Kyocera Clear Out Machine Data

*These processes are in order of the time they take. Shortest first.

        SYSTEM INITIALIZATION

System Menu > Adjustments/Maintenance > System Initialization > Login into the machine > Yes

        The machine will reboot itself

        FORMATTING THE HD

Log into Maintenance Mode (10871087) > Input 24 > Start > HDD Format > Full > Execute > Start > Reboot the machine

        DATA SANITATION

System Menu > System Network > Login into the machine > Data Security > Next > Run Immediately > Start > Yes

        _____________________________________________

*Extra note: When you run DATA SANITATION, it is best to do it and leave the machine alone for 4 to 12+ hours. I usually run this just before I leave for the day. When I come back in the morning its done and no well meaning person has jacked with the machine while it was running DATA SANITATION.

Funny story: I was doing firmware on a machine in a customers office ... don't remember what kind ... and an enduser walks up and looks over my shoulder. "Oh, I know how to fix that ..." and he reaches for the power cord.

I had to resist the urge to tackle the idiot. I managed to get myself between him and the cord before he bricked the machine. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There should be an Admin login to bypass the Application. You should be able to deactivate it from the application screen.
Reformatting the HDD should do the same as others have stated.
            Hope that helps !

Yes, the trick is to tap the MyQ logo and enter 1087 when a prompt appears.

oh man, a video of you tackling him would have been much more fun lol
i had one the other day, over the phone. she told me she knew how to remove the paper jam from the back of the copier, the fuser. im thinking hey saves me a 3 hr trip. few days later i get the call again. come to find out she was removing the paper along with part of the roller on the fuser. the entire roller was MIA when i picked up the copier.
