Is there any updates to this problem or anyway to avoid this problem. This is a nightmare ... lol, I doesn.t seem to be because of non oem toner and seems like the customer has just changed the waste toner soon before the problem occurs. Any thoughts are very helpful !! THANKS !!!

I vacuum the waste openings behind the drum and the chute that deposits the waste toner into the cartridge. I turn the drive gear attached to the auger that moves the waste toner until it moves freely. I usually change the drive assembly because most times the drive gear (X2) is broken. (I rebuild the drive units)

but you said they are using non oem toners? is there a chance maybe it is the wrong waste toner bottle? if not, then sounds like a build up of excess toner somewhere. big question is where...

Never use compatible toner in a color machine. You're asking for trouble. Mono isn't really any better, but there are 3 less drums/dv units to fight.
IMO replace the Feed Drive unit, Waste Toner forwarding unit & Waste toner box unit at the same time to avoid more calls.
Some guys say you can snap the Waste toner box unit back together if it's become unhinged & clean the rest of the units out.
After replacing the waste toner bottle unit, make sure to calibrate the new unit with U155.

Check TBU, toner rocks clog up the auger as well.

If the backup is bad i've seen the drum auger gears crack as well.

Pain in the ass!

I have also seen the backup to cause the ITB cleaner gear to brake on the ITB Belt. They are the weak point of the Cleaner. If it breaks you can replace it or I have super glued it to the shaft for a repair in a pinch.

My experience :
Usually the waste toner assembly cover pops loose where the waste bottle drive gear is couple to the bottle. This can be snapped back in place from inside the tray cavity with some pressure to the side of the assembly. Shine a flashlight into the area to see where I'm referring to. This causes the waste toner bottle to stop rotating and waste toner to back up into the waste system. You can easily test by leaving the waste toner door open and pushing the interlock for the door. The waste bottle should rotate.

Once I've got the waste toner bottle assembly repaired. I removed the waste toner drive unit and clean thoroughly. Make sure to remove the gears and bushings at each end and clean these as well. Check for toner waste backup into the belt cleaning unit and drum/dev units as well. Vacuum all waste toner from waste toner bottle entry as well.

Whole thing takes about 35-50 minutes.

Just to throw on a bit of my experience with this. I've seen the felt "wiper" pad inside the waste toner box tear loose and cover the opening when the bottle is inserted. There are a lot of variables in this system unfortunately.

I know there's a setting that forces the customer to replace the waste toner every time the black is changed? I've never found it, any ideas where that setting is? Maybe that would help if the waste toner is changed more frequently.

It seems to happen a lot more on slower machines 23/35's seems to be very rare on 40/50/60's. I also think if you take off the packaging that holds the waste toner stable while it's being transported I think that can mess them up.

We have had several waste cartridges with missing drive gear on waste bottle
Mistake from manufacturer during final controlling.
