I have two of these machines that streaks real bad first copy out then gets better the longer the run
have update the firmware ,change paper with on luck.
The problem is the fuser on both machines with copy count 180,000 and 239,000.I am getting ready to order a fuser because it is still under warranty but something tells me it not the fuser.
I would take a look at the mc grid first. I have one machine that does this from time to time and that is what ive found to fix it consistently.

There's a good chance that it is happening in the fuser. There is a firmware update to address this issue. There are three things to do.
1) Upgrade firmware to v. 8-11-9 (this feature was added in v. 2-19-09)
2) Set Sim 194
Count to "90" (default 30)
No. of Turns to "3" (default 1)
Web will last the full PM cycle (500K)
3) Replace fuser. If you don't mind doing the extra work it only really needs the heat roller, web, & cleaning roller.
If your problem remains to can bump sim 194 to
Count to "45"
No. or Turns to "3"
But the web will only last 1/2 the PM cycle (250K)

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

I've had main charge cause some streak issues on these models but most of the time it's been the fuser units due to buildup within unit on the rollers. Hardly ever have any buildup issues after updating firmware and completing the steps that blackcat has mentioned there.
Yes I have had the main charge create a shadow and you can increase the cleaning cycle I just replace the two wires, I have had more problems as BlackCat described and have been doing the same recomendation. The other problem that this new firmware repairs is when you have one of these in a lower volume place and the copies are light and I mean maybe half of the copy maybe light the new firmware increases the drive time speed on the developer roller to prevent this.
Agreed... Fixed several recently....New firmware address both copy quality and fuser roller streaks...Don't forget to change U194 as stated above...If you don't, it won't fix the fuser streaks...
Okay guys change the fuser unit to this machine at 282,257 copies, did firmware upgrade and change
everything in 194 to 90 and 3. Now 190,000 copies later i am having the same problem the upper roller is failing
me. Is anyone else having this problem. We are using oem toner.
check to see if there are any marks on your fuser and then match them up to your line... also check to see if you have run out of web... the first means you have to replace fuser roller... the second means you need a new web... sometimes runnout of web causes this...
Sad To Say I Don't Have a Life
I do this stuff on the weekends too
In the fuser kits there is now a note suggesting changing the count to "66". I had already set a few machines in the "60s" earlier the same week. =^..^=
