    SC530-18 Functional Problem MP9003

Issue with Tray 3 feed unit, just stalls every 10 pages or so. Swapped with tray 2 feed unit, and they both work (for now....).
Tray 2 will also become useless until machine is rebooted, but only 3rd tray indicated 'out of service'.
Anyone have a definitive code description for this? Only have -2 series and this subcode is nowhere to be found. Assuming feed unit motor, or connector issue.

Looks like you may have to contact Ricoh over this one. My version of the Service Manual only goes as far as SC530-16 and I can't find a RTB referring to that SC either.

SC530-01 to 16 refer to cooling fan problems so that may give you somewhere to start.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

Paper feed unit fan 3 error
After the fan turns on, the fan lock signal is checked at 1 sec. intervals.
      • Due to an obstruction or other problem, the lock signal went HIGH 1.5 s after the fan turned on and remained HIGH for 6 consecutive counts.
      • The lock signal should remain LOW during normal operation.
      • The fan stopped and then the machine stopped.
      • Fan motor overload due to an obstruction.
      • Fan motor connector, harness loose, broken, defective.
      • Fan motor defective.
      • Inspect the area around the fan for obstructions that could interfere with the rotation of the fan blades.
      • Inspect harness, connector and replace if damaged.
      • Replace PFU fan 3.

Nice - thank you guys. Machine only has 50K on it, so I'm expecting it was a connector issue and not defective fan.
        Will update if returns.

Hello, I have an MP 7503 machine with the code SC 530 19. There is no error code in the manual and it says that it is specified in a technical bulletin. Does anyone have that bulletin please?

Note: The machines of this series have four trays in Japan, and machines in areas outside Japan have three trays.
Tray 1 is a tandem tray, but Tray 1 in Japan is smaller.

perhaps when you tear down the pick up station, you left a connector unplugged behind the vertical plastic cover, perhaps a tangle was hidden, and you didn't see it
