MPC3504ex missing PDF and PS printer language

    [Misc] MPC3504ex missing PDF and PS printer language

    I got a 2nd hand MPC3504ex, currently missing PDF and PS printer language. Usually I just use SD Card, put romdata and install it. Unfortunely, this time, it doesnt show up when trying to update using SD Card. It still does give option which firmware to update but no box for PDF and PS. Only PCL and PS Font.

    Below was the romdata that I put into SD Card

    I already check "Extended Security" where update or changing firmware structure set to "Not Prohibit"
    Any help?

      I think you should update the entire firmware. Have you tried online? Is this a newly purchased machine from a dealer? Have you tried resetting it?

          If the machine have been install with postcript SD card ,after removing the PS3 SD card , the original PS and PDF will be missing, because the Ps3 card will replaced it after install

              Check that it actually is an ex model. If it has any other print options it most likely is not. From what I understand the MP C3504ex was a special model that came with PDF Direct and Post Script 3 factory installed and no other print options available. Someone may have put the wrong controller board in it. You need the part catalog that specifically shows it is for the ex model to be able to check the part number.

                  Try updating the firmware using the package file, this contains all necessary files.

                      Did try update using Ricoh Firmware Update Tool and SD Card with the package. But it still the same.
                      Nope. This one from random company decided to move out and let go their stuff.
                      Not sure what you mean with resetting it? Is it memory clear?

                          Think so. I want the emulation PS and PDF back. Not sure how to do it

                              I did check the controller got sticker D0AD5681, I suppose that is the correct part number

                                  DOAD appears to be the correct machine code for a model in the ex series. I have dug a little deeper into what documentation I have access to and from the Printer Specifications available on Ricoh-USA it comes standard only with PCL5c, PCL6, PostScript®3™ Emulation, PDF Direct Print Emulation. I'm not certain how the emulation firmware will appear in the diagnostic report or if they are removed when the SD card option is installed.

                                  Genuine Adobe® PostScript®3™, Adobe® PDF Direct Print​ are options requiring SD card to install.

                                      check with sp 5-990-"diagnostic report" a firmware presence
                                      try SP 5-801-"printer" and reboot
