One of the huge drawbacks to using package firmware and the firmware update tool. You may need to contact Ricoh support desk in order to get that file.

I tried updating with sd card and rfu, same error e86 when it gets to end. It looks like it has special firmware for network and web support. I will try Ricoh support.

The only way I've overwritten machines with custom f/w is to update using the romdata files (.fwu)
This always works.
Once the custom f/w is overwritten, the other methods will work going forward.

Huh? and "Where?" (as Slim asked)
It's literally been the most common way to update F/W..... forever! (manually at least)

In his post he states the issue is with the 5x IM 550f models he purchased.

There is both romdata files or the package file available for this model so try updating the modules of system / copy then try the .pkg file again.

The .fwu files are compressed inside the package. Download easy 7zip and extract them.

are you positive you are downloading for the correct model? i have had it happen, i didn't have the exact model. then i realize what i did.

Yes, I have other techs at our shop working on it too , in fact one of them started working on it first.

Thanks for all the help, I was able to extract the individual files and update the machine then did the package just to make sure and its all updated. Thanks another tech!
