Hello, I have a brand new C250i out of box. When doing my set up I noticed that there is a clicking noise before the fuser actuates. I have located the problem by using load check. Specifically 45-7. It seems the fusing pressure motor will not release. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to try before I return the fusing motor assembly for a new one. Thanks!

Another fuser tried?A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Re: C250i has clicking noise
Had this on a c450i, I levered the pressure retraction gear/shaft forward to allow better meshing with the fuser gear. See attached photo. Alternatively you can realign the fuser drive assembly.
Not sure if this is related to the loud banging/juddering noise some customers have reported. Sounds like a jackhammer. Anyone else had this? Fuser pressure drive.jpg

Re: C250i has clicking noise
I just had a fairly new C450i making clicking sound and it was the Waste Toner Conveyance ASSY (#11 in attached). Lubed the gear (arrow in attached) and noise went away and has been good. Might not be your issue but may help someone else.Attached FilesComment

Re: C250i has clicking noise
We've had this on 2 different i-model machines. For some reason the pressure drive is out of wack and doesn't meet up with the gear in the fuser properly. A different fuser made no difference. We ended up doing the same thing on both of them, muscled the drive unit forward some and then it worked fine with no further noise. I'm wondering if maybe the 2 we had were man handled a bit on the delivery truck or at the warehouse.Comment

Re: C250i has clicking noise
We have also had this 3-4 times, I'm pretty sure it's a tranportation damage, the frame where the fusing drive assy is mounted is a bit week on this series.Comment

The second one where I thought it was the clogged transferbelt which it wasn't. The noise has not appeared for 1.5 years
And yet the third customer reported a c250i making loud noises but when I visited I couldn't find anything and haven't shown up for 2 months.
I've never seen or heard it live myself. Only on the video.Comment

Re: C250i has clicking noise
Did you remove and visually inspect the ITB cleaning + pipe?
We had cases with intermittent machine gun noises and I think the sound is a bit louder during
the camera was close to the inner + front/left area of the machine.Comment

Re: C250i has clicking noise
On the first device from the video, the problem could be heard 2-3 times according to the customer. After replacing the fuser the noise was gone. I have not had an inspection for 1.5 years. That's why I didn't check the ITB after.
With the second device, the noise also appeared several times and it sounded like ITB to me. So I checked the ITB and the cleaning unit and the hole path down to the wastetoner but there was no hardened toner in it. A C-3103 was listet so it seems it was a fuser problem. I left everything as is and it has been working for more than a year.
The third device with counter about 5k is 30 meters away a from me at the neighbor's and I haven't done anything, I've been waiting for it to appear again since 2 months.Comment
