Agreed. Like you don't accept the FACT that current law in the USA tells a woman what she can/can't do with her body after the unborn reaches viability. Instead of having a serious and truthful conversation, y'all keep with the talking point - "my body, my choice." Blah.

Psaki’s Tweet Demanding Transcripts of Trump’s Phone Calls Comes Back to Haunt Her

Psaki was spinning a very different story during her press briefing on Wednesday when asked about Biden’s phone call with the Afghan leader.

“Well, I’m not going to get into private, diplomatic conversations or leaked transcripts of phone calls,” Psaki said. “But what I can reiterate for you is that we have stated many times that no one anticipated … that the Taliban would be able to take over the country as quickly as they did or that the Afghan National Security Forces would fold as quickly as they did.”

“So even the content of the reporting is consistent with what we’ve said many times publicly,” she continued. “I’ll also note something the president said in his press conference around the same time of this reported phone call: The Afghan government and leadership has to come together. They clearly have the capacity to sustain the government in place. The question is, will they generate the kind of cohesion to do it.”

What makes you think I don't accept that. If it is a current law, one would have to accept it, don't you think?

I'm glad that we agree on this. It's just confusing when liberals scream the new Texas law tells a woman what she can do with her body when current law in the USA already tells them what they can/can't do. They love to stick with that talking point but I believe it prevents us from talking about the core issues on abortion. Such as: when does life begin and should the government protect a healthy, unborn child and at what point?

A Texas state judge issued a temporary restraining order against an anti-abortion group Friday, preventing it from suing abortion providers employed by Planned Parenthood under a harsh new abortion law that went into effect earlier this week.

                  https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-judge-grants-restraining-order-against-anti-abortion-group-temporarily-n1278509

Travis County District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble ruled that under the Senate Bill 8 law, Planned Parenthood and its staff and patients faced "probable, irreparable, and imminent injury" if they were sued by the nonprofit group Texas Right to Life, its legislative director and 100 unidentified individuals.

Praising the ruling in Travis County, Helene Krasnoff, vice president for public policy litigation and law at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America said in a statement that the organization was "relieved" that the court had acted so quickly to grant the temporary restraining order.

Branding the new law "draconian," Krasnoff said the Texas court's intervention would offer some respite to Planned Parenthood healthcare providers "who have continued to offer care as best they can within the law while facing surveillance, harassment, and threats from vigilantes eager to stop them."

She added that the organization would continue to fight the law by "doing everything we can under the law to restore Texans' federal constitutional right to access abortion."

After reading up on the new Texas abortion law, it means very little that the SCOTUS let it move forward. The big test comes when the supreme court hears the Mississippi abortion law. That could be a game changer.

That gets us back to the question you avoided answering before. Would you want the control over your own body to decline treatment to extend your life if that extension meant more pain and being bed ridden?

My question came first and you still haven't answered it. Should a woman be able to abort a perfectly healthy baby (after viability) when there is no danger to her life? We can talk about your question and I'll be glad to do so but only if you give a serious and thoughtful answer to my question because that's what this debate is really about.

Oh brother. We're back to the same dance where you're looking to call someone a baby killer. Just do it and get it over with. I don't care. Then you can answer the question and we can move on.

I'm not looking to call anyone a baby killer or any other name. You need to read up on Roe v. Wade and understand current abortion law and how it relates to the new abortion laws trying to be passed by republicans.

Roe V. Wade (1973) establishes that abortion is illegal after viability. Read this:

a state's interest in protecting prenatal life became so compelling that it could legally prohibit all abortions except where necessary to protect the life of the mother.

Before we can move further, we need to know if you agree with current abortion law and why or why not. There will be no name calling. Please tell us and support your position.
