The waiting is the hardest part. Keep us posted Debs.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

My dad is having a big operation on Wednesday, the procedure is likely to last 5-6 hours, he is 76 years old and has previously had 4 heart attacks, so falls into a high risk category. I know he would appreciate any prayers that you can offer up to him, and if, like me, you don't believe in God, then sending positive thoughts this way would be great. Thanks

I haven't heard how the surgery went yet, or seen him, but he is out of theatre (8 1/2 hours) and he is stable, I will update again when I know more, but thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it really has helped me today

                Re: Prayers

Just got home, spent 15 hours at the hospital. Dad was still in recovery when we left, but they did allow us to see him for 5 minutes, he was a lot more awake and coherent than I expected after having major surgery. He will be spending tonight in ICU as he lost some blood, but that wasn't unexpected. Hopefully I can sleep more soundly tonight as I got to kiss my daddy good night
Thank you all again for your kind wishes and thoughts

Sounds like he's going to get through this just fine in the end.
                        Best wishes!

Mum is holding up OK, she was totally exhausted, but I'll be surprised if she slept last night even after seeing him and knowing he's OK. The past 18 months have been really hard for all of us, but I'm sure she's felt it most of all, they have been married for 50 years. I can't wait to get back to the hospital this afternoon to see him again, I just hope he's not in too much pain, but I know he will cope with the pain, especially as he knows that this will be the beginning of being able to live a painfree life again, something he hasn't known for so long
