Glad to hear that. Let him know we are all still praying for all of you.
God never disappoints. Jesus said, ''Whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you PRAY for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, I am there for them''.
We Debs' friends in CTN have come together to pray for her father's successful treatment and speedy recovery from his illness, our prayers have reached the Lord's ear and he has granted our requests. May all honor and glory go back to him, Amen and Amen!
In the most recent service I attended (Prayer Day, 16th May) the pastor did suggest that as people we always try to give our loved ones what they ask us for.
God loves us all...so why should he not give us what we ask for?
Best news yet, as soon as there is a bed available on a ward dad is going to leave ICU, he is well enough not to need intensive care now
That IS good news Debs !!!!!
"The Serenity Prayer" . . . God grant me the serenity to accept stupid people , the courage to not waste my time and energy on them , and the wisdom to know that I cannot fix STUPID .
Tell him to start grabbing the nurses asses. That will get him moved very quickly, or it's just a great way to pass some time.
He doesn't need any encouragement to be naughty, not after fighting the poor nurse lol.
He went back onto the ward that night (well, about 3am the following morning), today he has been able to eat a small amount, he just needs to get strong enough to stand and walk again now, but he had to learn to walk again 18 months ago when he was bed bound for weeks when all this started. Today he told me he had NO pain, he hasn't been pain free for over 18 months. I showed his some of the posts on this thread, he still thanks you all so much, when he's well enough I will let him read the entire thread, and he can thank you all himself.
Here is a picture I took of him yesterday

That sleeve of mine is getting wet again, Debs - once your Dad is able to have that tube removed, I'm sure his grin will be even broader.
"You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus"--
He still has tubes going into his neck too, but I'm sure they will all be out soon enough, even in my dreams I didn't imagine he could be pain free so quickly, I'm certain he will still have his ups and downs, but every day he's getting stronger and more well, this was him just over a week ago, look at the difference

This is great to hear. We're all still praying for him and for you and the rest of your family. They will most likely start on physical therapy to get him up and walking as soon as they can get him scheduled. Once that starts, he'll be going home soon.

You slipped this one in while I was typing my other reply. Everyone has their ups and downs. It's part of living life.
I have suffered chronic pain due to two traffic accidents (hit from behind, not my fault!) for the last five years. I am so glad to hear that your father says he is not experiencing pain - constant pain is exhausting and he needs his energy for a speedy recovery.
Sorry I haven't been on here for a few days to update, I have a bad throat infection and am off sick
The good news is, dad came home from hospital a week ago, he still needs the district nurse to visit daily, but they've been doing that for 18 months now, but he is definitely on the mend, thank you all again for all your kind thoughts
