Re: Prayers
At his age and with that long a surgery, there is bound to be occasional set backs for a while. You and your mom need to just stay positive and let him see that your are positive. You need to keep his spirits up and we will keep you in our prayers and thoughts.Comment

Re: Prayers
Thank you, the support I get on here and the positive thoughts really do help. It's so hard to keep positive, it was heartbreaking this evening watching him get so distressed with vomiting, pain and confusion. I would do anything to be able to take his pain and nausea off him, but all I can do is hold his hand and tell him how much I love himThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Prayers
When I saw my dad today I couldn't believe the difference in him, he still isn't able to eat, but they have started him on a drip to build him up and build up his appetite. He is completely off the morphine and his pain levels are virtually nil, he is off oxygen for most of the time. He is still quite nauseous a lot of the time, but that is to be expected with the amount of bile he's producing due to not eating. This is the first day that I've really thought he is understanding what is being said to him (the morphine was really messing with his head, hence the fighting with the doctors and nurses, I found out today that the fight was for real, he thought the staff were trying to kill him, so he fought back, and one of the male nurses now sings with a soprano voice LOL, he is good with it, my dad won't stop apologising, but he realises it was the morphine) so I told him that Mr Bill from Washington State said hello, and that people all over the world are thinking of him and praying for him, he got really choked up, tears came into his eyes and he said Mr Michael from London says hello and thanks you all so much.
I thank you all too, with any luck my daddy will soon be eating again and will be able to leave ICU, and hopefully get home real soonThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

Re: Prayers
Excellent news Debs! It does sound as though he'll be back home soon.
There's nothing more difficult than watching a loved one suffering, and the feeling of helplessness that comes along with it.
Very glad to hear that those days are all but behind you now!Comment
