    C654e

I'm a Ricoh guy and what I thought was a good customer purchased a used C654e (instead of the Ricoh I proposed), anyway, he would like me to set it up, install the bridge unit and finisher. I connected them but the machine does not recognize them, I guess something may need to be turned on in the service mode.
First, how do I enter the service mode?
second, once in where do I need to go
and third if anyone has a manual for sale let me know.
    Thanks

nothing needs to be setup. you have 2 cables to hook up 1 from bridge to finisher and from finisher to the upper left corner where the ADF wire is.
as far as a manual, i play drums so your avatar gets you a link in a PM in a minute
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Thanks for the info. I hooked up the bridge and finisher, connected the wires but still no recognition.

        Which wires?
Was the machine fully Off (not just the switch on the op panel)?
Did you follow the setup instructions?
        Have you updated firmware?

        What models of accessories?

        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

The wires coming from the bridge and the finisher (FS535) I have no installation instructions, can't find it in the manual either. Turned it off on the main switch (not just op panel)

You'll need to plug in the cable from the finisher to the back of the machine also. =^..^=

you may need to enter the serial number of the finisher into the machine for it to recognize that it is connected.

I dont set up many new machines but I did recently set up a new c284e. In the set up instructions it was explained to go into the service menu under "System 1" you will find "Serial Number " press that and enter the associated serial number of the finisher.

When I was setting up the bizhub c284e I missed a step and it didn't work right until I went back through and entered everything properly. Not saying that it will recognize the finisher bit it's worth a shot

The bridge unit has a small PCB where the wiring plugs in. This PCB has a ICP on it. If this ICP is blown, the machine won't recognize the bridge or finisher.
