Does this wipe the machine counters etc? if so is there away to back them up first?

Which m2 ssd adapter does one need to buy? Looked for testdrive could not find it on the internet.

I'm guessing I will need to purchase a m.2 nvme ssd to usb 3.1 pci-e to usb-a 3.0 internal converter card

counters should be recovered while system restores itself, life stats are stored on a separate chip/board.

In my experience. It wipes the whole lot.

if you change more than just ssd. yes all is destroyed. If you attempt a unwiped used drive. counter info could be scrambled . if you try any used uncleared board in the i series results are always bad.

I didn't quite understand whether you formatted the old storage board or used a new one.
If you are using a new one, I wonder if it has to be a certain type.

                        Thank you for feedback.

both, however the new ones i have are from new damaged km stock and have to be formatted. There is an in machine way of doing the same thing but it requires a password code number to execute.

                            Another C-250i (D-Color 259MF):
                            - Data only 25%
                            - Diagnoses with displayswitch: light purple, data 25% and nothing else
                            - connecting Storage board with PC: It aks wether MBR or GPT (Storage board getting hot)
                            - After MBR (ok?) reconnecting with device and starting with USB: dot ok, data 25%
Does a new storage board make sense or did I need recovery software?
                            Thanks!

i always left them with no format at all, raw. the best clue you gave was its getting hot. how hot? if its burn your fingers hot ,toss it.

I didn't format it. I don't think burning fingers. But without success. What shall I do?
