    FS-542 Coming to America

    Hello All,
Recently Konica Minolta USA posted a video where they had a bizhub configured with an FS-542 (an FS-533 with the new manual stapler.) Any chance these are coming to the US soon?

Agreed. They are impossible to work on. I just keep a stack of them from lease returns and swap them out in the field. Hate those things!

        Throw them in the trash.

Serious question: Does anyone actually disassembled and work on these? I did twice. Both times were memorable. Do I still? haha nope.

I've seen that manual staple feature on a full size finisher. Think it was on a Kon/Min in the off lease warehouse where I buy machines?

I agree they are not meant to be worked on. They seem to work ok and will replace or remove if an issue. Never understood why the tray has to raise & lower every time. Just leave tray up an only lower when sorting

internal finishers and magicolor printers. two things that kill my inner child and made me want to go home.
there were 2 occasions i recall getting beaten up by a 533 and i went to our warehouse and grabbed 534s and bridges from the lease return pile and installed them at the customer.
those finishers are evil and require regular exorcisms however KM fails to offer clergical training and i find myself unqualified.
that stupid triangle flap that gets stuck forward and causes jams. those finishers make me happy i "retired" early.
i tip my hat to everyone who has faced these mechanical beasts in battle and emerged victoriously.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
            The medication helps though...

As much as I love working on machines I hate finishers. Glad we have only few.

Anybody who has worked on the FS-533 will remember the mountains of bulletins to update these little, uh ... um, finishers. They are not friendly to work on. I'd much rather see any full sized finisher, rather than that.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Finishers are one of technicians worst nightmares. I've never liked them from the days when finishers were only offered by 3rd party manufacturers like Gradco, etc. I have bad memories of putting those Gradco metal trays back in the slots !!!!

Just heard a rumor that this is supposed to replace the FS-533 once Konica runs out of those.
