      Could be DF isolated?

Remove rear ADF cover and check connector. I've had a few off lease machines that the ADF cable was pulled when moved which disconnected it from the ADF board.
Also you can try initializing the machine. Service mode, sys 1

Did you initialize the machine? Service mode, system 1

Also when ever I've replaced the battery I had to do complete new machine setup, machine type, etc etc

                thanks for the support
I thought about that possibility but I don't have the MACHINE and TYPE data for BH284e, maybe you do?

Screenshot from the manual covering all 3 of the slower Color 4e machines.

unfortunately this table does not suit me, I need it for the black and white machine BW BH284e
                      serial number starts with A61G02-
Can I change these parameters without resetting or upgrading the firmware?

Should be 4 and 2 in your case.

Crap, sorry about that. I swear I saw color somewhere in the thread, so my mind was focused on the color models. I see TSBSERVICE got you covered though. Hopefully that gets you back up and running.
