    C308 SMB Win11

I feel like crying right now.

I have an office, upgraded from C280 to C308. But I am having intermittentissue on SMB scan right now. For some reason it will fail on the C308 randomly. Is there anything else I need to take note or change in the DipSw?

I belive the firmware is A7PU0Y0-0100-GC2-R9.

Been so many years, we were fine with the C308, happen that SMB2.0 is supported out of the box. But I cannot pin point how come it will fail randomly

Released a few weeks ago... G00-Y8 firmware. It adds TLS v1.3 capability to that machine.

Do you scan to Hostname or IP-Address?
Do you use DHCP for the scan-target?
Is it public or private network?
Is the scan-target wired or wireless connected? Or does that sometimes change?

          Hostname,
Do you use DHCP for the scan-target?
do you mean the target PC is DHCP or not? Tried both, static and DHCP, seems to be the same. But often time when I check, it works. However, in the history, I did see the failed scan jobs.
Is it public or private network?
Tried both ways, user reported fail. I mean I did set it to work on both private and publlic

The reported failed users are wired PC

Does TLS v1.3 helps on SMB scan? I thought that it only affects emails.

          Antivirus?
It is a end-point antivirus. Since another C280 on site works, I cant see how that endpoint would render the scan on C308 failed.

Personally I think your best option would be to update the firmware to at least X or Y

              TLS is for E-Mail.

Do they still use C280? Then could the SMB-Configuration be a problem (C280 can only use NTLMv1 / SMBv1)

Just to add to this I've had a look through most of the firmware updates notes in between your GC2-R9 up to the latest Y and there are so many SMB fixes. Not necessarily what you're explaining but enough to make me think your intermittent scan issue may be resolved with the latest firmware applied

Set it to scan to IP that will last until the lease of the IP expires and if the PC pulls a different IP

                    13. Scan to SMB fails sporadically when using SMBv1
Found in the release notes for FW GC2-X4 Function-Version 4.2

make sure the time and date on the copier is accurate, i know email fails if the server time and copier time differ. not sure if SMB does the same.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
                      The medication helps though...
