Bizhub 421 says replenish paper after one copy

Hello, machine says replenish paper after one copy at tray1. I changed casette feed unit motor unit both boards and nothing changes. Any suggestions?

reading this has brought back a distant memory, was this the model that the cassettes used to crack, and not be held in properly, for which there were various mods.....

HA! i plastic-welded so many cracked trays in the day. soldering iron and a cd jewel case fragment for support.
for the others that needed a shim in the back for the arm id drill a hole and thread a zip-tie through it to "extend" the tray and push the arm in better. shims fall off
thats why i first suggested pushing the tray in for multipages!

Ha-ha, some here are showing their age knowing what a Biz 421 is ...... Including me! I still have one of these in service. This customer had it since new. Only one time replaced drum , dev, PF rollers. Oh yea the toner btl assembly which was a common problem.

Our last 421 "came out of the field" about 9 months ago. They just wouldn't get rid of it, and I guess I know why now. They ended up getting bought out by a Private Equity Firm, and then they filed for bankruptcy shortly after that. That was the end of that machine (and a number of other models) thankfully.

Thank goodness they didn't owe you money. Fortunately I've only been beat for money 2 times in all the years I've been in business. I had a lawyer once tell me if someone owes you money offer to take half and call it even, if they tell you " Thanks for offer but I want to pay you everything I owe you" , you will never see a cent from them! Turns out it is true because with both of these customers I offered to take half of what they owed me, funny both said exactly what the laywer said and I never got paid a cent

totally off topic but Copyman reminded me of a time long ago that when certain customers were really late on payments id do a courtesy call and unplug the fuser, get a C500 error a restart wont fix so the machine is dead and needs "parts" we required them to satisfy their debt before ordering parts. worked 8\10 times.

still off topic, we had a customer who never paid, their device was set to stop everytime it needed anything, so we had to go and start it again, and collect the money they owed

Still off topic, we use Kyocera's remoting in ability to put the machines into coin-op mode.. that focuses the accounts dept. ability to pay...

Reminded me of when I worked for the big companies, when a customer owed money the tech would show up at customers office to do a "courtesy call", break a corona wire (showing my age again) and walk out the door

ha ha, reminds me of when I was showing the apprentice how to swap over a DV unit, i told him how easy he had it, where he just had to swap it over, years ago we had to rebuild them, and use a feeler gauge to adjust the doctor blade...."what's a feeler gauge?" he asked
