It's that bad? Wow-sers. Anyway I was planning on just testing it on one of my machines at the shop but it sounds best to just stay away with a 9 1/2 foot pole. Does the pdf mention any worthwhile fixes?Comment

With the new S7 firmware KM are now forcing an admin password change. As we know if been the same default for many years, I guess that's the reason for the change.

It's new RED-compliant firmware (FW) is developed in accordance with the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
As of 01.08.2025, all devices placed on the market without this new FW are considered non-compliant.
Machines running the RED compliant firmware will among other changes require a non-default admin password. After an update to the

We had some 850i come in with S7 in the USA. We had to downgrade them to special firmware for Papercut. As a warning, if you do this, it will give you a storage lock message after a restart. If you have to downgrade like us, make sure you go into Enhanced security and do the Password Decrypt first before going down in Firmware from S7. If you do not decrypt first, you will have to do the procedure of reforming the SSD memory. Also, SW 176 will be set to 1C default before S7 is 18.Permanently banned from Konica SSD.Comment
