I have at the moment two machines of the much older BH-C-280/360 generation doing exactly that. In both cases is the cause the cracked gray lever/hook combination at the front of the cassette door. The door is closing, but at the front side with slightly less pressure. If you push the door a little inside when the paper is passing, the problem is gone, indicating what the cause is. I do not know if the "8" series has the same or a similar lever/hook.

id say either paper was loaded poorly or the lift wire at the back is out of the thing it wraps around.

if you put 5 or so sheets in then let it raise, open side door and see if the paper is sitting level at the rollers

Have you replaced the rollers, I've had similar when the DFPV roller has been worn, or the mylar on the exit of the tray

rrrohan is spot on. I just had a PC415 doing same thing. Pull tray all the way out of base and look at the rear lift cable. It is not wrapping around the bottom white plastic pulley. Also most likely the tray drops hard instead of dropping slowly when opened with no paper and pops cable out of place. you can put cable back in place but next time empty tray is open cable will pop out of place and wrap around shaft instead on pulley and rear side will be lower causing jamming or paper skew. My fix for paper tray dropping hard was the small black gear on rear side of tray, it's called the damper or dumper part # A2XM62300. This small black gear has a spring or bearings inside it that makes tray drop slowly and cable will stay on pulley properly.

There is a bulletin about paper skew if your cable is good. See attached

Most common: A folded over corner way down the stack. You won't notice until you remove all the paper. I've found this many many many times.

              Next most common: Worn rollers

Last: Uneven lift plate ... for whatever reason. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

All of the above plus check the mylar guide that guides the paper into the feed rollers (the wide one in the tray itself).
These get nicks in them and even small ones cause feeding/skewing problems.

I put the wires back in the pulley slots and glued a shim in one case and a dab of caulk on another when I had 24 hrs to let it dry. That traps the wires to stay in their slots. Didn't know to check for the black damper gear, so it's always nice to get multiple opinions!
I've had to trim multiple torn, worn or bent mylars, front & back. Gonna get some mylar stock to carry around.

I went here to ask if anyone knows what the diff between 4/slower 8 series pc410 vs faster 8/8e series pc415 pedestal/lct is?
We can't mount the pc410 on a unit that takes pc415. results in misfeed on rt. side. Mechanically, at least the drawer interchanges. Seems like the board is the diff but Hytec says the board is the same.

Looking through the parts manuals for each unit, the part number for the board in each of them is in fact the same. The motors, belts, and gears in the drive unit have differing part numbers, and appear to be of different gearing. Different pickup, feed, and separation tires, though irrelevant. Photointeruptors are a different design, though I'm sure that is also irrelevant. I'm shooting for the motors and gearing that are the cause of the jamming, otherwise they appear to be identical, with only minor cosmetic differences.
