running copies without doing the adjustments will screw up the ATDC level and it will never print right.
do you mean resetting the special parts counter and running F8? I did those - is there something else I need to do?

I agree 100%. Before you run many copies, reset the appropriate counters, and do a developer stir. Otherwise the machine will use an inaccurate developer density reading, and quality will quickly degrade.

... and thank you for the recognition. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sorry about the late reply, things have gotten really busy at work and I haven't had the opportunity to get back on here in a few days. I see that you did eventually get it back together, so that great.

As for the quality problems, have those cleared up any further? It's possible that when you were getting the really bad copies that some excess toner got only the transfer roller (black foam roller on the right side door) that sits directly across from the drum. If that is the case, quality should eventually get better over time as the copier slowly "cleans" the roller by pulling that excess off the roller. Granted it can't perform miracles, so if it is really covered it may need to be cleaned manually, or even replaced.

The 350 probably needs a new drum, developer and developer unit. but considering the age, it would be cheaper to replace. sometimes old dogs have to be put down,,, LOL.

I only ran those 50 test copies, and they seemed to get cleaner and cleaner. So I think it will continue to improve, well hopefully.

As for that little bracket I was trying to figure out, turns out the service manual was mistaken about the order things go on / come off. So that was one of my lessons learned - the service manual is more of a guideline than hard and fast rules.

I did replace the drum and developer (twice). I am fully aware that this machine is not worth the cost to fix it, but it was a fun project for me.

So, I had to quit my job and start a new accounting firm, for reasons too complex to go into here. Of course I left my BizHub because it belonged to them. But with my departure, that firm decided to shut down, so they called the local copy place and paid them to pick it up and recycle it ๐Ÿ˜ช

I decided to try to rescue it, and they said it was actually still in the truck and they would bring it to me, free of cost (easier than recycling, probably), but then they called my old job and they said no, don't do that, there might be data on the hard drive ๐Ÿ™„ and so the copy guy said he didn't want to get in the middle.

So anyway, my question is, if I have the copy place pull the hard drive and destroy it, and provide a certificate of destruction as they had agreed to my old firm, is it possible to replace the hard drive and where can I get one?

Yes you can put new HDD in, format and good to go. If copier is same hdd is only 40gb. The hdd was an option so if not going to scan huge jobs you don't need hdd. Bascially the hdd on this model was for scanning big jobs.

I still have hdd's & some parts for the biz 250/350 that are getting closer to the dumpster.....

the 40GB IDE (not sata like todays) harddrive was optional unless it has a fax and the memory upgrade.
if you didnt need the fax it could be removed along with the HDD
                            thats what the footnote suggests.
9When you add the HD-504, you must add a minimum of 32MB of memory by installing the EM-303 Memory Upgrade or the FK-503 Fax Kit.
they are like 10 bucks on ebay btw.
