    arm-450n L4-02 headache

    Hi
I have a arm-450n that gives me a normal L4-02, but this time i'm whith a great dificult to fix it:

    have described the problem:
-the codes apear every mornings when the costumer conet the copier the first time, well and i go them and if i insist whit the sm 25-1, after about ten attempts, the copier beguin works and works well every day, do a lot of print and copies whithout problem. Next morning same thing.

    -I already do.
-first of corse, (i now l4-02 means main motor look), clean and repair the residual sistem, whith replace the pads, gears, do ok.
-Chek to the developer unit and is ok
-some thig do ast the ps roller unit
    -unit fuser ok to
-disasssemble and chek and clean main drive unit, clucths of ps roller and so uuuffffff??
-after all this the problem is not fix, this same.
-lastly, i change every units, dv, drum, ps roller, and was the same not fix??

My question was, may be a main board issue??

    sorry a large coment,

    thanks

In my experience the L4-02 main motor drive code was illlogically caused by a primary high voltage leak from the high voltage cable that runs through the main drive assembly. The cable is part of the main drive assembly and must be ordered that way. You should have no difficulty installing it, since it sounds like you've already stripped this machine to the frame a couple times already. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I would replace the motor, had to do it several times over the years RMOTP0862FCZZ around $88 retail.

The only thing I can add to this, and know of a fix, is L4-02 on a Tiger & Jupiter machine can be caused by the MC unit arching. There is a bulletin on this code appearing during warmup, or first use of the machine each day.
Replace the MC Unit and test.

If the MC doesn't fix it and the machine has a high meter, I would replace the main drive unit rather than clean it. Too much work done already! Not guaranteed of course...

the only problem I had with L4 code, on those machine, was caused by the toner cartridge.

                  hi friends
                  thanks for all coments.
The issue was fix, there was a HV leak in the main drive unit.

Do you have any issues with the copy quality? I have drum with perfect black image, but when on the paper grey and missing parts of it. This copier is killing me....

These machines don't usually have such drastic problems as you describe. Make sure your toner is OEM, your fuser pressure release tabs are in the 'pressure on' position and that your drum and developer are within specs. You can run a sim 25-01 to check your toner reference level, it should be between 90 and 115 most of the time. Only run 25-02 if you replace developer - and if you do - make sure to clean the mag roller - no toner buildup on the surface. Your MC grid and sawtooth electrode need to be clean as well.

the other thing that can cause this is buildup of waste toner on the drum unit, have seen a lot of these and vacuuming out the waste toner usually take care of this, Tigers were known from this, and Sharp just has never done anything to resolve the issue, just fixed 3 of these last week all for l4-02 issues all different customers, the drum unit literally does not turn except for maybe one copy then locks up.
