Re: Do you believe that Climate Change is real and caused by mankind?
1st paragraph.
It’s important to remember that scientists always focus on the evidence, not on opinions. Scientific evidence continues to show that human activities
I can only guess that the reason that 97% of the scientific journals support the climate change theory is that before they can be published they have to be peer reviewed.
Individual theories and special interest groups supported by political or corporate money usually cannot meet this test to become scientifically published.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 09-09-2017, 08:43 PM.Comment

Re: Do you believe that Climate Change is real and caused by mankind?
A survey of 1,600 Americans in 2016 concluded:
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/05/s...=tw-share&_r=1
Americans are deeply divided on the causes, cures and urgency of climate change, and party identification is one of the strongest predictors of individual views, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center.
Just over a third of Americans say they care a great deal about climate change. Among them, 72 percent are Democrats and 24 percent are Republicans; both numbers include independents who say they generally lean toward one party.
On other questions on climate change, Americans remain starkly divided: Nearly seven of 10 Democrats believe climate change is mainly a result of human activity; fewer than a quarter of Republicans believe that. A similarly worded question that appeared on surveys from 2006 to 2015 found comparable gaps on the perceived causes of climate change.
According to some scientists who study public perceptions of climate change, the United States is unusual in its relatively low level of public interest and engagement. In a poll conducted last year, around the time that world leaders gathered in Paris to negotiate a climate agreement, Pew found that among the 40 countries surveyed, a median of 54 percent of people considered climate change a serious problem. Among Americans, the figure was 45 percent, that poll found.
The new survey did find areas in which Americans agree across party lines. More than 80 percent, including wide majorities of Democrats, Republicans and independents, favor expansion of the solar and wind industries. About two-thirds of Americans say that climate scientists should play a major role in policy decisions related to climate change.

The following list of groups plus NASA state that climate change is the result of human activity:
American Medical Association
American Chemical Society
American Geophysical Union
American Association for the Advancement of Science
American Meteorological Society
American Physical Society
The Geological Society of America
US National Academy of Science
Plus here is a list of nearly 200 other scientific organization around the world that hold the position that climate change has been caused by human activity.
List of Worldwide Scientific Organizations - Office of Planning and Research
I you have any evidence that any of these organizations were influenced by political or corporate donations in making their determination that climate change is the result of human activity, please let us all know.
I did do a Google search on "are peer reviews influenced by money" and yes there are certainly many articles that suggests especially among academic topics that both bias and money could be a factor.
I appreciate your map from 2010 showing there were three hurricanes present in the same time in the Atlantic Basin.
Hurricane Karl was a Cat 3 storm and caused $5.6B damage to mostly Mexico
Hurricane Igor was a Cat 4 storm and caused $200M damage to Newfoundland, Canada
Hurricane Julia was a Cat 4 storm but caused minimal damage as it never posed a threat to land.
The problem is as the ocean keeps getting warmer due to global warming, the frequency and intensity of these hurricanes can only increase.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 09-10-2017, 03:13 AM.Comment

Re: Do you believe that Climate Change is real and caused by mankind?
A little non PC fact.. In a recent interview, on a national radio program of a renowned geoscientist revealed that many climatologists believe hurricane intensity , in recent years has increased due to cleaner air...So it seems stronger, deadlier storms are a byproduct of reduced car , industrial emissions and coal fired power plants...ironic ehh..Comment

This is a list of scientists who have made statements that conflict with the scientific consensus on global warming as summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and endorsed by other scientific bodies. The great majority of publishing climate scientists support the consensus on anthropogenic climate change, hence this list represents a minority viewpoint.

Re: Do you believe that Climate Change is real and caused by mankind?
Science is not a consensus opinion, it is based on verifiable research and peer review of the presented data. Remember the celebrated Hockey Stick global warming model that was "proved" to be entirely bogus! You are basing your argument on the debunked [false news] statement that a majority of climatologists have published scientific papers supporting this view when in fact it is only 30% of the papers published on this issue. The other 70% say that there is not enough data to support this view or cannot correlate the data to man made causation of the warming trend! The majority of true scientists do not support your view, just do some research. Just remember that the dinosaurs lived in a climate that is much warmer than it is is today! How do you account for that? Can you tell me the joules that man has added to the climate as opposed to the joules added by the sun?
CO2 levels during time of dinosaurs. Kinda interesting

Climate deniers threw all their might at disproving the famous climate change graph. Here's why they failed.
Please provide links to where you are claiming only 30% of climatologists have published papers supporting global warming.
It is probably true that the world was warmer when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The discussion is about man made climate change. Not about the time before cavemen first discovered how to make fire.
Some quick research indicates during the time of the dinosaurs that there was a lot more volcanic activity on the planet and continents were still shifting around due to tectonic activity. This all kicked a lot more CO2 into the air.
One the joules question, I do not know. Please provide the answer with links to your sources.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 09-15-2017, 03:17 AM.Comment
