With the amount of money I put into a system I rarely use, the doctors office should be picking me up at my house with a Limo, filled with champagne and women.
Wow....I'm speachless after reading SlimSlobs thread... I had to pick my jaw up off the ground.
I hope like F@#! that the bureaucratics pushing for a private health system in Australia run into some stiff opposition in legislation.

The price of health care in the USA... thats, thats,(words fail me) evil. Seriously wow....

The doctors should be picking people up in helicopter with lunch on a deserted island for the prices you guys have to pay.

The above is very similar here in Oz... The gov't is trying to force us to pay health-care through our taxes at the moment. When people don't make any money how can people pay health taxes to the global privately own taxation department?

Our bureaucrats just gave themselves another $40k-$80k pay rise ontop of what they already make, upto $800K per year. The poverty line in Australia is around $40k per house hold. Do you think our system of government is top heavy ?

Crap, my mistake, sorry about that.
The best I could tell from around here was that it was entirely a volunteer effort by people, which should be applauded, but from what you've described it appears to be similar to one of the reasons that made me finally choose to leave Illinois years ago.

How about this for beating swords into plowshares?

                I'd fire one of those.

Still, there's been big fires every year out in the western U.S. for so long that some plants require fire so that their seeds can germinate. So big fires are not always a bad thing. At least not around there anyway.

The lorry drivers passing through Calais to England are so fed up with the illegal immigrants trying to stow away on board that some drivers have resorted to tying bits of pork to the trailer.

I've heard urban legends of soldiers coating bullets in pigs blood or bacon grease. Not sure if this is actually effective AT ALL in deterring Muslim terrorists or if it was ever really done. Quick google shows that there is a brand of swine-infused ammunition which advertises "there's pig in the paint" so I'm tempted to say it's not entirely legend.

If it does actually make any difference in deterring would-be terrorists I'd be amazed. I'd also want to have a word with any God / deity that's so black and white that it would send you to hell for being shot with pigs blood bullets. It's not like you choose who or what shoots you.
"Sorry, you've devoted your whole life to me, died a martyr, but there was some trace of pig in the paint. You're going to hell for that."

                        Seriously?
