It's a shame more people don't understand that. Including me when I toasted the engine on the Taurus wagon I was using for work.
Another thing that most people do not realize is that the water in a pressurized cooling system can reach a higher temperature than steam. If the temperature sudden starts to drop for no apparent reason, you might not have any water left in the system.

      Very true....

Water has the most marvellous properties. It expands when frozen, it expands when heated. It holds potential energy when microwaved.
I single drop of water contained under extreme temperature and pressure can expand up to 700 times is volume when it flash points to steam.
The hot water pressure release flash point is the reason why steam engines are able to drive pistons and do work.
People under estimate the potential energy stored inside a working car radiator.

Well, I suppose that just could be a really big spotlight on top of a ROWPU too. So never mind.

Looks similar to the AC units that they hospital units use to keep treatment tents at a comfortable temperature.

Are your referring to no spare oxygen in the water, and therefore a cooling and suffocation of the flames?
Water does burn given a high enough temperature. The Fire department will tell you foam is better for putting out fires. Foam is better because a percentage of oxygen is released out of the water to further fuel the flames.

Water can be separated into hydrogen and oxygen given the right temperature and containment. Our entire city has a network of gas pipes laid throughout the older suburbs. The gas pipes where put there during the World War. Conversations with old veteran families informed me that the gas works use a method of dropping water onto super heated charcol to split the water into hydrogen and oxygen. I believe a special micro defuser separated the two gases and hydrogen was pumped throughout the city. The gas pumps used for pushing the gas throughout the city where themselves hydrogen combustion pumps, so the whole gas works system was self contained you might say. The water gas works has long been removed and replace with dinosaur fart/natural gas. Hydrogen gas although very clean burning is not without mechanical containment problems. Hydrogen is a very small molecule and will leek gas from the smallest mechanical joint. I believe it may have been "one" of the reasons why the hydrogen gas was replaced with LPG or natural gas etc.

Salt water can also burn when hit with a correct microwave frequency. There are Youtube videos that show salt water burning after microwaving.

Water is a very amazing substance. Water can develop energy levels that are unheard of. Example: Pons and Fleischmann cold fusion with their over unity from water.

Not forgetting the human body is 75% water. Which reminds me of the work of Michael Schiff with his book "The memory properties of Water". Which further leads the way to the marvellous works of cymatics or wave interference patterns. There after sci-fi movies like "The Matrix" take on a whole new meaning...

High pressure steam in nuclear reactors can come out hard enough to lop limbs off.

Amazing... instead of nuclear power generation the power company can split water by up to 700 times its volume and burn the hydrogen in a clean generation power station for next to nothing. Burning fossil fuels will come to a close in the future.

                  The amazing properties of Water.
                  Water does not compress.

High pressure water cutters are used to cut steel plates on industrial profile machines. The water jet can cut a reasonable thickness of steel plate.

Water is also used in Salcedic hydraulics to pump hydraulic rams to enormous pressures. I've witness 400mm dia hydraulic rams push up to 600 tonnes each. Two of these in a combined lift push 1200 tonnes.

I got to use a plasma cutter back in the day. It was one of the coolest things too, you could cut through stainless steel welds on inch and a half armor plate that would defy oxy-acetylene torches, and there was absolutely no slag either (funny story that, when it is random enough I probably will share it here). It would cut through three inch thick aluminum just as fast as you could cut a two by four with a decently sharp handsaw but with way less effort, on my part at least.

Oh yeah, the plasma cutter...I was cutting away when I noticed my foot getting warm. Looked down and my pant leg was on fire. Try to set down the plasma wand, and calmly look for a place to "put yourself out" while still maintaining a non-moron appearance.

While this is kind of a neat concept, I'm pretty sure the infinite improbability drive doesn't even slightly exist yet. So their Heart of Gold is more likely a bunch of baloney.

If it wasn't already clear that Elon Musk has considered virtually every aspect of what it would take to colonize Mars, it is now. As part of his Reddit AMA session, the SpaceX founder has revealed that his vision of a permanent colony would entail a huge number of "miner/tunneling droids." The robots would build large volumes of underground pressurized space for industrial activity, leaving geodesic domes (made of carbon fiber and glass) for everyday living. As a resident, you might never see the 'ugly' side of settling the Red Planet.
