Seriously though, why can't the truck drivers put a padlock on the high side of the trailer rear door? Surely the anti Sus-domesticas couldn't reach up to cut the lock as the truck is stopped at the border.
Many of the trucks that get attacked have soft sided cargo areas (from what I've read so far anyway), canvas like sides that are designed to be rolled up to ease loading and unloading. The sides are held down by straps tensioners, similar to the strap adjusters on a high end back pack. A padlock on the door won't deflect attacks from the sides.
And actually, unless they are a refer unit anyway, even the metal sided trailers don't have that thick of siding.

They carry bolt cutters and although the truck is stopped in Calais and sent through a heartbeat detector to find immigrants sometimes when they are busy you are sent around the facility.

Seriously there is a device for detecting a human heartbeat through a shipping container? Startrek is not so much sci-fi any more.

Sounds like I could have used something like that on some of my old bosse's.
I'd swear there was too much ice around their heart to detect any heartbeat.

I want to hear Christopher Walken recite "I'm a Little Teapot". This needs to happen.

I also want to hear Morgan Freeman recite the chorus to Limp Bizkit's "Nookie".

Choir practice in the office sometimes makes a horrible resonance.
It's amazing how the sound reverberates and carries some distance outside the walls.

I suppose the acoustics in that office are designed more for silence than music. From what I've seen, they usually are.
I got to see Clapp Recital Hall at the University of Iowa back in the mid seventies, it had acoustic tile patterns that I thought were pretty advanced for a place that large back then. It also had the largest pipe organ I've ever seen with my own eyes (I've seen pictures of the pipe organ that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir uses, it's probably bigger, I guess), and some guy who looked kind of like Peter Frampton was playing some classical music with gusto on it then (it could have been Mozart or Beethoven, but I don't remember for sure as I was pretty young back then, but I still remember the music being played then rather fondly). Here's a YouTube video of that pipe organ being played:

I don't know why that video is in old timey amber view, the organ was installed in '72, and color film for still cameras was pretty cheap by then. Oh well, while the video does sound best if you can play it on a computer that has actual satellite speakers and a subwoofer, if you're in an environment where you can turn the volume up enough it doesn't sound too bad on even monitor or laptop speakers. I don't have earbuds, so if that's what you are listening to you're on your own, but I wouldn't think it could be that bad with them either.
Sadly, Clapp Recital Hall became somewhat entirely uninhabitable because of a flood back in 2008. However, the pipe organ has found a new home:

It's been that way since George Herbert walker Bush left office.
