    Re: Trimalleolar

Oh man, that's terrible. I hope you can first, get some relief from the pain, and second make a speedy and complete recovery. OK, not too speedy (8 months? ugh.), but at least complete, without too many lasting side effects....... With all that time on your hands, you'll know this website inside and out! Good luck.

Hate to hear that, BC. Just be sure and follow the doctor's instructions. It is way to easy to overdo it when it gets feeling better which may result in a longer recovery time. I've seen that a lot.

Think of the positive--your recovery time gives you time to memorize part numbers (ducks behind a desk!).

That's sounds like just what I'd do. Do I qualify as one of these clumsy/nutty friends? I'm complimented (I think ...).

I'm usually ducking down behind the copiers. That's going to be more difficult now. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.

A real blackcat might have been a little more graceful. Landing on your feet is not always the best thing, I'm discovering. =^..^=

Also, from experience (though not as dreadful as yours) DO do the exercises they give you for home, and be strong through your PT. It will pay off in the long run. I wish I'd been more diligent the first time around....

Personally I didn't have a clue what a "trimalleolar" was until I read this thread, likewise I didn't know what a left distal was until I broke mine, years ago that was.

I saw the orthopedic surgeon yesterday.

No surprises. Surgery is for Monday afternoon.
It still hurts like hell most of the time. The sooner the better. =^..^=

They were unable to do the surgery yesterday due to "fracture blisters". I'm guessing that means that my leg is blistered under the cast, not sure why. They cut off the cast, treated the blisters, and re-cast it. I did get a wonderful nerve block, meaning I slept like a baby last night. =^..^=
