Success! Slept right through. No more need for painkillers.
I accompanied a friend to the courthouse yesterday. The security guard wanted to run the crutches through the x-ray machine, and me to hop through the metal detector. I suggested that he'd find a few iron plates, and wasn't going hopping anywhere. The wand found my iron pretty quickly. At least he didn't make me show him the scars. I expect to have to explain this quite a few more times in the future.
Next job is to get the ankle working. Construction of the range of motion device begins. Pictures upon completion. =^..^=
BC a good night sleep, its a shure way for a recovery
Time to start self-directed therapy. I can lean on the right foot, not to full weight but most of it.
I restarted the free weights.
Curls: well that's just embarrassing. 7 weeks off makes a huge difference.
Situps: didn't lose much strength there.
Pushups: About half the previous count. I've got some work to do here.
ROM ankle: just starting that. The ROM device is designed, not built yet. No way to measure, only count reps.
Hopping around the house: I'm doing a lot more of that. Maybe build back some stamina.
The elliptical will have to wait until I get a little stronger with the right leg.
No pain from the ankle. Minor discomfort when flexing, but what did you expect? Like the weights: No pain, No gain.
Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! I should have the ROM device working before the end of the week.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
An off the wall suggestion: any chance there's a 3D printer in a library around there? It might be easier to print out the parts to the device you are looking to build rather than hauling that heavy stuff around when you're not 100%.
(I'm pretty sure I've seen a story or two about 3D printers in libraries on Slashdot or something. Maybe check it out if you have time.)
Still, sounds like you are recovering nicely, keep up the good work!
"The Serenity Prayer" . . . God grant me the serenity to accept stupid people , the courage to not waste my time and energy on them , and the wisdom to know that I cannot fix STUPID .

I've got access to a 3d printer, send me the .stl files and I'll print them for you BC.
www.thingiverse.com has alot of "things" that allready have the .stl files, so you can print them.
That's cute! I used to have some white fuzzy bunny slippers, but couldn't walk in them. Every time I tried to take a step a cat would attack my feet. I eventually gave up, and let them have the slippers. =^..^=

Just out of curiosity what application do you use to create the .stl file?

several versions of CAD will export as .stl . Had 1 customer export .stl from Skeechup as .stl files. The printer software will import the .stl file and allow some manipulation (ie. scaling and positioning for the build) and then the "slicing" and verification takes place before sending what turns into a .x3g file to the printer. There are several programs for free to do 3d rendering, not all are easy to use though.
I can start attempting to walk and physical therapy next week. I'm able to do a reasonable facsimile of standing unaided, but that's as far as it goes. My buddy Sean told me it would tingle when you started to give it some body weight, and it does. But it's not pain. It's more like that 30th curl and you've got maybe two left. Does that make sense?
I got copies of the X Rays this time. Please enjoy the pictures of my newly acquired hardware. Sorry, I painted out the personal information.
I also got a card to show the guard at the courthouse: "This person is know to contain metal parts ... "
It almost looks like a foot. I can't entirely make out the one brackets ... it must have a flange at the bottom.
Don't try this at home. =^..^=

Holy crap, no wonder you were on pain meds.
"You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus"--
You just think you've been screwed. I've got the proof.
Physical therapy starts Tuesday. I cleared the snow, but the old Scion wasn't going to crawl out of three inches of solid ice. We had a nice 50F day so the ice was soft, but still plenty slippery. The neighbor showed up just in time to give a tug with his pickup. I'm free now, and driving southpaw is not a big deal. I did a couple of laps around the neighborhood to get my sea legs. =^..^=
