    Canon IR3300

I'm not a Canon guy but have inherited a couple IR3300s. I'm having trouble with the ADF on one. The first copy comes out with the trailing edge skewed. If doing multiple copies everything after the first copy is OK. The solenoid that fires the pinch rollers at the exit point is working. If you do a double-sided original, the first side is skewed, the second side is OK. What am I missing? I reversed the direction of the spring on the solenoid and got passable copy. TIA for your help.

If you lift the doc tray and look at the exit rollers, the white idle rollers can get pushed under the cover so that they are making no or slight contact with the exit rollers. Just pry them free from the cream colored plastic.

check your DF height adjustments/ for cover to front and rear of glass/with adj screw-must but to glass/ check your DF cover angle(with the SLIDE SCREWS on hinge -for adjustment)

Definitely check height like Teckat said..if that don't fix it make sure the white platen roller is not stuck out of position...happens alot on these feeders. Make sure the guide ramp between large platen glass and stream read glass is not cracked or cut with paper. I have also seen the exit roller solenoid get lazy...the damper sheet around the plunger gums it up...clean the solenoid plunger, bore and remove the damper. Once the solenoid engages it stays engaged on multiple originals. I've had this on these feeders...usually in dirty enviroment especially around diesel exhaust fumes...damper turns to mush

Thanks Canuck, The plunger pad did look questionable. I'll remove it and flush the plunger. I'll bet that's the problem. These machines are off lease after five years of hard use. The other company got the gravy. I get the crumbs. Oh well! Keeps me busy. Thanks again. This site rocks!
