    C3350i confirmation page?

I have a customer ask if there was a way to print a confirmation page when scanning? Not sure if I understood them correctly but think they may scan directly to an email address and wanted a receipt the scan was successful? I told him the job history should show results. I may be wrong but only confirmation pages available are for faxing which this machine does not have fax installed. Thanks

Transmit confirmation reports for Scan to Email

Is there a transmittal confirmation report available when scanning to email whether using a relay SMTP server or directly to an SMTP server?

No, there is no confirmation report available from the MFP when scanning to email. However, there are methods that can be utilized to reasonably confirm that the message was sent successfully

    1) The User Guide for the MFP includes an Error Code list in the Troubleshooting section
    a) There is a list of Error Codes pertaining to Transmission (E-mail/Internet FAX/IP Address FAX)
    i) If the scan sends, and there is no error code, then success is probable
    (1) See picture below of User Guide entry and random selection of codes displayed
    2) Have the sender CC themselves on the transmission
    a) If the sender receives the email then success to other destination(s) is probable

I like this suggestion the best
      2) Have the sender CC themselves on the transmission
      a) If the sender receives the email then success to other destination(s) is probable

Just thought about this. They can login to the email that they use to scan and check their sent folder. At least in gmail you will get a failed to send message in your inbox if it doesn't go and in your sent folder you can see all that you have sent

I'm curious as to why they would need a confirmation, unless they're sending to someone out of their organisation - which we always tell customers not to do, as there is no proof of what's been sent. I know on some models you could get a confirmation report when a scan was sent

look at it this way, the more printed reports the more click$right?

Best advice here would be to scan it to yourself and then forward it on if it's being sent to someone outside your organization. Sending directly is generally not a good idea. Most people on the receiving end won't be able to comprehend that the email came from a machine and that most likely the email address it was sent from is not monitored. If they just click reply, their reply will likely never be seen by anybody, and that makes for bad customer relations.
